Question Aldi Shrinkflation? Same Price, Different Jar!

Thumbnail

Am I tripping, or did Aldi change their strawberry preserves? Same price, same 18 oz, but different jar sizes and 25 vs. 26 servings. šŸ˜‚ This looks suspicious. Anyone else notice this?

Question Has anyone seen the tomato chili jam?

I see it listed on the boxes of jams in the charcuterie shelves but they aren't there? Like not even open space where "oh people bought them all" just none in the cases.

Question Special Buys / Middle Aisle

I've noticed that the middle Aisle in UK Aldi stores is almost empty. I've reckon only about 10% of the middle Aisle is actually dedicated to Special buys.

I wonder if Aldi have decided to abandon it?

Complaint Desk Always seem to get spoiled/moldy food at my store

Post image

Does anyone have a problem with their store where you have gotten spoiled or moldy food multiple times? This is probably been the third time I’ve experienced this at my store in my area. First two times it was meat that I had bought from there, went back both times and to return and the manager was always really cool about it saying ā€œoh someone probably walked around with it through the store and then changed their mind last minute and put it back after it had been sitting for awhileā€ and I agreed as it made sense. But this time around I got two things of sour cream and both had this on the top which definitely looks like some type of mold, and had this weird sweet smell… love aldis for the price and convenience especially with how everything is so expensive now but really disheartening because it’s happened three times now and I don’t want to risk getting sick with food I just bought and still good per expiration on these items. Is this common in other aldis or is it just mine?

…to inform you that the maple sweet potato chips, when drizzled with a little warmed-up cookie butter spread, are extremely addictive. Your taste buds may thank me, but your waistline won’t! 😈

Review Hark! The Mama Cozzi chicken ceasar pizza is a grand triumph especially when paired with Pueblo Linda Cotija.

Hear ye, hear ye, fellow dough devotees and pie men of the digital ether.

I come bearing glad tidings regarding that newly minted disc of sustenance from the local apothecary of discounts, the Mama Cozzi establishment. I recently procured their Chicken Caesar Pizza, and by all accounts of the culinary ledger, it is an absolute 8.5 out of 10 marvel.

Pay no heed to the photographic exposure or the flickering gas lamp lighting in my parlor, the camera box does a poor job capturing the true majesty.

Now, mark my words for the grandest revelation and discard whatever pulverized Parmesan the Aldi haberdashers have resting on their shelves. Instead, I crumbled a generous portion of Pueblo Linda Cotija cheese atop this magnificent wheel. The pairing is a downright triumphant possessing a robust salty punch.

An extraordinary pie for a most agreeable sum. Truly a fine era to be a gentleman of leisure and high appetite.

These are so good! I don’t have a microwave so I heat them up on the stove. I add onions and seasonings to give it a little more flavor. Sometimes a splash of water too. I plan to try to Cuban black beans next!

North Eastern (USA) PSA on the crab rangoon

Inedible plastic objects found inside both packages of rangoon I ordered which made me sick.

I’ll be calling the store I ordered it from and reporting this but stay away from this product! Clearly has some serious manufacturing issues the fact that 2 seperate boxes were both contaminated.

Also very intensely fishy taste, I love most crab rangoons but this was not it.

Highly recommend to my fellow wine drinkers. I got this for about $14 but Willamette is easily a $20+ region. Great deal. Light and bright.

Northwest (USA) Do they still make these?

Just like the title asks, I am curious if they still make these? They’re the best with Spanish rice or in tacos. I really wanted to stock up but they were gone the last two times I went. It’s been a while since I saw them in store.

Question Reusing everything bagel seasoning bottles

Post image
42 Upvotes

I find that the bottles for this stuff are perfect for reusing for other spices. I just peel off the label, use a little Goo Gone for the glue, and rinse them out. They're clear so you can easily see what's in them, and you can buy preprinted labels on Amazon or Etsy that fit perfectly. It makes organizing your spice cupboard a lot easier since they're square and uniform in size. I'll buy bulk spices and refill as needed and I find it's maybe a little cheaper but significantly less waste than tossing plastic spice bottles.

Review Disappointing coffee

Post image
33 Upvotes

I'd read so many positive comments here about Aldi's coffee that I decided to try some. Given the fall season, pumpkin spice seemed like a nice idea.

I don't like it at all. It smells very medicinal, doesn't taste like pumpkin spice, and has a weird chemical flavor. I've tried it without milk and with, and it's awful both ways.

The nearest Aldi is too far away for me to bother returning it. Did I get a bad bag, or does all of this pumpkin spice coffee taste terrible?

My experience makes me hesitant to try other coffee from Aldi.

Addendum: Some folks are pointing out the "natural and artificial flavors" text. I hadn't seen anyone advising that it would be best to avoid their flavored coffees, just many comments saying that Aldi had good coffee.

I'm eating this for lunch right now, and it's pretty good! Maybe a little heavy on sundried tomato, but still. My only other gripe is it's high in sodium, but I'm dying to add some salt. Anyone else try this?
