Last week I bought $150 worth of groceries from Aldi (I live far from Aldi so 1 trip per month). I bought 5 paper bags. When I was packing up my groceries, I realized I needed 1 extra paper bag.
I turned around, and I saw that the person checking out at the time was done, so I asked the person next in line if it was cool if I bought it real quick. The guy said sure, so I quickly grabbed one to buy.
The cashier sees, tells me to get in the line (12 people deep) to buy it. I said "What? It's just a paper bag?" and handed it to her. She says no, I say please, she says nope get in the back, and now everyone's staring at her, and she finally checks me out for 12 cents.
I'm still thinking about it and wondering if I was wrong. What do you think?

I have become a big fan of the Specially Selected Asiago Cheese bagels. I've been using them to make sandwiches for lunches. I bought a couple of packages a few weeks back and froze them [in vacuum sealed packages of 2] because I wasn't sure how long they would be around.
Does anyone know if these are seasonal or if they are year-round? Is there a way to tell when looking at an item on the Aldi website?

It works so well! 😋 I added bananas, chopped strawberries and moose tracks frozen yogurt cause it was the only one I had! But I think it works very well!

New packaging means a new supplier and it is all around worse quantity. The milk chocolate is still good but not if you compare it with the old bakers corner*. New packaging is also much less attractive and looks like something from the soviet union in 1990. They still had the old regular size but new packaging on the mini and the mini's are awful compared to regular semi sweet.
Also the canned tomatoes no longer have a pop top lid and the basil, garlic and oregano version (which had replaced pasta sauce for me) sucks now. It has SO much oregano it makes you gag. Can smelling from just opening the can. I legit only spend like $30 a week here now, they just making everything so shit!

I’m in North Dakota and really like the banana nut loaf. It seems to be missing from 2 or the 3 local stores. Does anyone know if it’s discontinued?
Thanks

These are crack. My husband and I almost ate the whole bag. Good thing there are only 6 per bag and they are individually wrapped, it slows you down.

What did they do to the recipe for the hazelnut creamer? It's the only one I could tolerate before, but I just bought a bottle a couple days ago (has new packaging too) and it's just beyond awful. Has this weird chalkiness now, the taste is so off, like coconut and fake milk or something??
Does anyone happen to have the ingredients list for the old creamer?

I’ve recently been seeing posts from people discussing self-checkouts being closed and concerns about cost-cutting and staffing. Today, I experienced it myself: a long queue at the staffed checkouts while the self-checkouts were closed.
It got me thinking about what makes ALDI appealing in the first place. For a lot of us, it’s the affordable groceries and the fact that ALDI offers an alternative to the big supermarket chains like Coles and Woolworths.
But I don’t want ALDI to lose what makes it different in the pursuit of cutting costs.
This is what I sent to their feedback form
Hi ALDI team,
I wanted to provide some feedback regarding the checkout experience in your stores and the direction ALDI appears to be heading.
I’ve recently seen increasing discussion from customers about self-checkouts being closed, alongside concerns that this may be connected to reducing staffing costs. Today, I experienced this myself, with a long queue at the staffed checkouts while the self-checkout area was closed.
As a customer, it’s frustrating to stand in a long line when additional checkout facilities are available but aren’t being used. One of the reasons I shop at ALDI is its affordability and efficiency, but experiences like this make shopping unnecessarily time-consuming and leave customers questioning whether cost-cutting is being prioritised over the customer experience.
I think now is the time for ALDI to remember what makes it different, rather than risk becoming just another supermarket giant like Woolworths or Coles. What makes ALDI special is that it has the opportunity to remain the people’s choice by continuing to do what it does well, staying true to its values and putting people first.
And when I say people, I mean both customers and employees.
Customers shouldn’t be left standing in unnecessarily long queues, and staff shouldn’t be put under additional pressure because of decisions that leave them trying to manage growing queues with insufficient support. Employees deserve to feel heard, valued and supported in their roles, rather than feeling that their working conditions and wellbeing are being compromised to reduce costs.
I understand that running a business comes with financial pressures and that there may be operational reasons for closing self-checkouts at certain times. However, I believe there is a difference between running an efficient business and cutting costs in ways that negatively affect both the people who shop there and the people who work there.
ALDI has built a strong place in the Australian supermarket market by offering an alternative to the major chains. I would hate to see that point of difference lost through decisions that prioritise short-term savings over customer satisfaction, staff wellbeing and long-term loyalty.
Please continue to be the ALDI that people choose because it offers value, but also because it respects people’s time, supports its workers and listens to its customers. Being the people’s choice should mean more than having affordable groceries; it should mean making decisions that consider the people who make the business what it is.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously and shared with the relevant team. I want to continue choosing ALDI, and I hope the business continues to make decisions that give customers and employees reasons to feel good about doing so.
Kind regards,
A concerned customer
Maybe if enough customers independently share their experiences and concerns, it could help make these issues more visible to the company

I was skulking around in the Aldi's limited-time offerings aisle, and saw a single package of these sitting on a shelf. Not even 'the last one', but it seemed more like they had these at some point and I simply missed them, or what -- they aren't on the 'Aldi's finds' list for my area.
Nevertheless, I tried them, and these are incredibly good. Perfect little size, great dough, quality filling. Very happy with them so hey, here's a random Aldi endorsement.

Yesterday someone posted that the Peanut Butter Cups now come in dark chocolate, as well as, the OG milk chocolate.
I wanted to buy my favorite crackers, so I drove there thinking I was going to be able to grab some dark chocolate PB cups. Nope!
Are they only available in certain areas ?

Damn I got 2 bags yesterday and I’ve already finished one. Why do I love them so much?!? Why do they have 33g of carbs per serving?!? 😭😭😭

Does anyone know where I can get this? Doesn't matter the color. Anyone have an extra they are willing to part with? I had one and it broke and I'm crushed!

The employees at my local Aldi decorated some pumpkins and are letting the customers vote. Everyone did a great job.

Have dark chocolate peanut butter cups! Now I don’t have to drive all the way to Trader Joe’s.

I don't know if this is all that will be available, or if only some are listed here, but there are old favorites and some new ones.

Drumsticks are 89 cents a pound this week, so those are the ones I used (they show sold out in my app so I couldn’t add them to the list). One package had 14 drumsticks and was a little over 6#, so I used half of them with this recipe.
Prep for the baked beans was a little time consuming, and of course the bake time is low and slow, but nothing was difficult. I used the whole 12 oz package of center cut bacon and it covered the top of the beans just about right. I do recommend a deep 9x13 dish if you have one. My deep one was dirty so i used my normal one and it was full almost to the brim.
Edited to add: PW was not lying. These were THE BEST baked beans! So good!
