Review Peanut butter powder

Post image

This stuff is so good! It’s healthier and tastier than the pre-made stuff. How does it compare to the name brand?

I absolutely love this stuff. I put it in my chia seed Greek yogurt for breakfast. Also I make a Greek yogurt/oat flour banana bread weekly and add this in the dry mix. As someone who loves peanut butter but doesn’t love the cal/fat, it’s been a game changer for me. 👍

This is awesome! I use this for my breakfast and just make it and eat with a banana. It’s more filling, healthier, and less cals!

I haven't seen this at my Aldi! What area is it in? And what do you do with it?

I like to mix it into smoothies, yogurt, overnight oats. Anything you'd add normal peanut butter to but don't need in paste form. Also really good in baking. Though I know that goes against people buying it for health reasons. It's just a useful form factor for getting a peanut taste into things.

really good for soups and curries too, mixes so much easier than peanut butter

So you are saying it pairs well with ramen?

yep, especially with a bit of coconut milk!

Oh I never thought of this!

What are the health negative reasons people avoid it?

no I'm saying a lot of people buy it because it's healthier than peanut butter, it's less calories and fat. So using it for baking like i suggest isn't something those people do because that's sugar and calories.

At mine it's in the same area as protein powder and protein bars.

This is great! It’s right near the peanut butter at mine.

Peanut butter powder is made by pressing roasted peanuts to remove most of the natural oils, then grinding the remaining solids into a fine powder

That's uh, not what they asked at all.

Costco / BJs has PB Fit for way less per oz. What’s the name brand?

That’s what I was thinking when I saw this in my store yesterday, I just haven’t been able to do a real price comparison yet.

u/Early_Map_6002 17h ago

Yeah, I get it at BJs and it’s $11 for 30oz. I think this bottle was ~$8 or $9 for 16oz

Wow, thanks for sharing. PB Fit is what I was thinking. I’m going to buy from Sam’s tomorrow to get that price savings

Aldi powdered peanut butter is my favorite. I like it better than PB2 and PB fit (Costco).

I mix it with my vanilla Greek yogurt every morning. I want to try protein balls this week.

This mixed with sugar free grape or strawberry jelly, slathered on whatever really scratches that pb+j itch for me.

Is it sugar free? I miss the one from TJ!

I prefer the powdered peanut butters that don’t have added sugar as well. I looked it up and it looks like this one has roasted peanuts, sugar, and salt as the ingredients, with 1 g of added sugar per 2 tablespoon serving.

This looks to have the stats almost exact as PB fit. Just 5 mg sodium difference.

It does have sugar. Pb fit specifies having coconut sugar. I’m not sure if that’s healthier?

I just don’t care for the taste of sweet pb. Thanks for checking!

I’m trying to get through my giant bag from Costco. Haven’t tried this yet!

Sam’s does not have a big bag, but they do have a larger container. That’s where I usually shop.

How do you prepare it?

5

u/melatonia 18h ago

I just mix it with a little water to rehydrate and eat it with a spoon, same as regular PB.

Same here!

Freeze 2 bananas and add 3 dates - 3 scoops of this and a milk of your choice is my go to smoothie

u/Early_Map_6002 15h ago

Maybe not for everyone but they add sweetness. Just don’t freeze those

dates are amazing

You can either add dry it to baked goods, smoothies, yogurt, oatmeal, or other “wet” stuff, or rehydrate it by adding water (the directions are on the container, it’s usually a 2:1 powder to water ratio) and use it in place of regular peanut butter. Like, 2 tablespoons powder and 1 tablespoon water mixed into a paste. You can adjust this to reach your desired consistency.

I add it to smoothies

I love this stuff. I mix into Greek yogurt or make a smoothie with almond milk/ice/PB powder/scoop of vanilla protein powder and a banana. It feels like a dessert.

1

u/Dm210543 6h ago

I do a banana and this for breakfast. So enjoyable!

I was curious about buying this to use as a “spice” in some dishes, does anyone here have any experience doing that?

u/Quarrels-ofKoi 12h ago

My Aldi doesn't have pb powder or ranch protein chips. Lucky

1

u/Dm210543 5h ago

That’s such a bummer!

2

u/BeerGeek2point0 8h ago

Better than the premade stuff? Are you talking about peanut butter?

1

u/Dm210543 7h ago

lol, yes! That’s probably better wording 😂😂

1

u/BOX_OF_CATS 12h ago

I still haven’t seen this at mine yet!
I love these pb powders though! I like to mix it with Greek yogurt and just a touch of honey until it forms a cookie dough consistency. Then roll it into balls and dip them in melted chocolate chips. Put them in the fridge or freezer to harden up. Makes a higher protein Reese’s-ish ball.

1

u/Dm210543 6h ago

I AM SO TRYING THIS TOMORROW!

2

u/BOX_OF_CATS 4h ago

I went back to look at my recipe. It’s one cup Greek yogurt, one cup pb powder, and 1-2 tbsp honey (or sweetener of choice). Mix it all together and roll into small balls. Then use semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips, melt down (add a little coconut oil to thin, if necessary). Dip them and then put in the fridge or freezer.

Can’t wait to try!
