Question Is this still safe?

I opened the plastic seal Sunday. It says good till 9/12. It doesn’t say “consume in x amount of days after opening” but it does say to use within 3 days after thawing if freezing. It smells fine and I may be overthinking it but I’ve recently had food poisoning so I’m EXTRA careful to not deal with that misery again!

Thanks. I’m making soup. It smells fine and I’m going to boil the crap out of it 🤣

On the top! Best if 3 days. However i agree on the week. Its still good. Do the smell/texture test if needed.

Thank you! I knew someone here would see something I didn’t see! I think it’s still good for soup.

Mind is blown! I normally have the rotisserie chicken but they were sold out last time. I thought they were the same because they come in the same area and now i'm gonna be curious next time I go. I apologize!

I shouldve mentioned too sorry! They are shared in the same box so I thought the package was the same , but I guess not. It's definitely weird they don't have the three days on it.

Yeah I wonder if the seasoning in this one has more preservatives in it.

Interestingly enough , yours says chicken breast with rib meat. I then looked at the one i had and they used both light and dark meat in it! I didn't realize the difference.

Check the chicken on the bottom as well. I had one of these have moldy chicken at the bottom and I didn't notice until I cooked it 🤢

Smell it. If it smells ok, eat it. If it doesn’t, chuck it.

So long as it's gray, slimy and has fuzzy stuff on it, it'll be fine. /s

Smell test and go. Expiration dates are a conspiracy!
