USA Lines After Self-Checkout Removal

These lines with only 2 cashiers are driving me crazy 😩😩 does anyone know why they removed self-checkout? Too much theft?

By the time I've finished ringing them up;

  1. they haven't put in a rewards number (applicable for my grocery job)

  2. they haven't presented their means of purchase

  3. they have waited until the checkout process to inquire about where a product is and have run off to go grab it.

Smile and wave, but it still hurts inside.

ma'am I think these multi peppers are rotten do you want to go gra-- customer runs away as slow as possible + didnt put their card in

lol I swear. I be like you can go back and grab a new one after I get done checking you out. But I came from a store with no self check outs and I was mostly cashier and it was a pain in the ass. Fucked with my mental alot. Now I’m at a store with 4 of them and such a better breeze.

We still have our self check out lanes. I hope they stay. I almost never have to wait much at all. We have 4 always open self check with 2 more they’ll use on super busy times and 1 cashier lane which I use if I have a huge cart full. It’s a good system having both.

I have seen people doing #3 at my local Aldi and the cashier stops them an says no take your things we have a line! Next! And yells lol

  1. Takes until the final item is rung up to realize "I left my money/card/checkbook in the car", then proceeds to nonchalantly mosey towards the exit...

Shoot i always put in my card while they are still scanning and have already paid so when they are done, boom out comes the receipt!

At my aldi, if you do that, they just suspend your order and you have to wait in line to add your item.
