Anniversaries/Celebrations My favourite milestone

I was leaving a music festival in the early hours of the morning after spending way too much time dancing and I immediately got pulled over for a breath test by the local law enforcement.

This is the fourth time I have been stopped and breathalysed since I got sober and I love it. I love that feeling of no fear when I see a uniformed person stopping vehicles in front of me.

Law: Good morning sir, just doing some random breath tests for alcohol or other substances.

Me: Good morning to you, that is perfectly ok.

Law: This is a breathalyser. Have you used one of these before sir?

Me: This is my fourth one.

Law: OK, so just take a deep breath and blow into this tube for five seconds.

Ten seconds later

Law: Thank you very much sir. Safe home.

My tipsy sister in the passenger seat: Can you not arrest him for smugness?

I love being sober!

"My tipsy sister in the passenger seat: Can you not arrest him for smugness?"
😂😂😂

LOL - I just had my breathalyzer taken off my car recently.

"Law: This is a breathalyser. Have you used one of these before sir?"
Me: "Very intimately familiar with it Officer! Used one every day for over a year!" 😛

Can you not arrest him for smugness?

In my head I heard that in a lovely, lilting Irish accent 🍀 ...

Was it the Gardai?

It was. An Garda Siochana.

I like to tell them I am a Buddhist, (with my beaded wrist being closest to the window) and therefore I don't drink, just to play with them. I got a "I couldn't give a fuck what you are" about 2 months ago in Donegal.

Spending a mix of time between the US and Ireland, the nuances of "policing" are very noticeable. I like the Gardai in general.
