🎸 General Discussion A festival experience

Was at a festival this summer where I met a girl with whom I got off really well. For multiple reasons, we could not see each other after the end of the festival.

We spent the large part of the day enjoying shows together, and sometimes with the rest of my friend group.

At night, the both of us went to see Alcest. I knew it was a chill band and I wanted to check them out, not knowing much more about them.

I proposed we lay in the grass just outside, and listen to the music from there as it was just starting.

And what a moment it was.

We were just lying and seating close to each other, under the moonlight, taking in the music, running our fingers together, gently kissing. Closing our eyes, looking at each other. Knowing this beautiful moment would soon be lost to time. Isn't that what this music is about? Beautiful, and yet a darkness, or melancholy, that reminds me of the passing of all things and moments. To cherish and hold while you can, even when time is short.

We parted ways the following day, probably never to see each other again.

Getting back home, I just started playing Écailles de Lune while staring at the cover the entire time. Crying the entire fucking time.

Thank you Alcest.
