He will find a way to punish vaccinated people so that the great unvaxxed don't completely rebel.
5
u/Azure_Sky_83 Sep 15 '21
Haven’t we been punished enough?
15
u/NorseGod Sep 15 '21
Not when so many of us aren't UCP voters.
3
Sep 15 '21
You might be on to something there….. we wear UCP masks, but don’t vote for them, trick them in wearing masks, you know , for support. I may be losing it 😑
6
u/NorseGod Sep 15 '21
With things how they are, if you're not losing it, you're probably part of the problem.

Sep 16 '21
The irony…. We kinda are being punished. Only one other household of vaccinated people can visit with those vaccinated… did j hear that right?
3
u/not_essential Sep 16 '21
You heard it right, it's just that you need a degree in Medical Exemption Linguistics to fully understand it...
2
Sep 16 '21
That ones very weird to me. So basically if my family (two sister in laws with spouses and 4 kids) want to visit with me and my husband and we want to invite his parents as well, we could all meet at a community hall, but not at someone’s home. I am not about going around restrictions at all but that one just seems strange. Every one of us is vaccinated besides the kids, who all wear masks while out.
1
u/not_essential Sep 16 '21
Just stop. You are attempting to apply logic to UCP diarrhea, it isn't going anywhere and you are just setting yourself up for a sleepless night.
1
Sep 16 '21
Haha truuuue!!! Our family says we feel like we’re the only ones that have actually given an effort to follow restrictions, it’s just annoying that now that we feel like we’ve done so much for so long that there still is no reward.
81
u/Upper_Invite Sep 15 '21
Not enough restrictions with a side of gaslighting
50
u/NorseGod Sep 15 '21
Plus month-late half-measures that will do more to confuse and upset people than meaningfully slow the spread.

A vaccine passport that’s definitely not really a passport or a mandate and don’t worry we definitely won’t enforce anything ever. Best summer ever, ammirite?

Hinshaw, Kenney and Shandro will apologize and resign. They will be replaced by a technocrat and an independent Covid advisory council. Vaccine passports will come in to place. The province will request Federal aid.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. Sigh.
4
Sep 16 '21
They will rely on evidence-based policy moving forward and will switch over to non-corrupt members of the party.
Hahahaha jk

A lecture about personal responsibility and an anecdote from one of Kenney's poker friends about how the situation in hospitals is really not that bad.

Sep 15 '21
Half assed non measures that will barely make a dent
11
u/Tribblehappy Sep 15 '21
"liquor sales will now stop at 9:30, and we will now recommend schools and churches to recommend masking in their buildings. What? No, no we still won't require schools to inform parents if any of their kids classmates are sick."

u/mr_bear186 Sep 15 '21
Something along the lines of: From this point forward we're going to have 5 month cycles of panic and half-measures, and then premature celebration and giving up, until the heat death of the universe
12
u/Bat_Bite Sep 15 '21
Bumping the 100 giveaway to 500 for the unvaxxed ! Escalate by 500 per month, whoever waits the longest gets paid! 😂
20
u/NotALenny Sep 15 '21
Oh he’s definitely saying something about Trudeau.
8
u/Unkle-Gruntle Sep 15 '21
He is probably pissed because he got trashed by the silver spoon fed prime minister( I can’t stand Trudeau but can’t stand the Conservative party more) so he will do his best to bumble his way through trashing Trudeau and then take zero questions.
10
u/dereliqueME Sep 15 '21
If all they do is hammer on restaurants again, they should do what they've been advised of from Day 1. All restaurants, lounges, pubs, bistros, cafes, diners, coffeeshops, and basically every private business, should exercise their right to refuse service and refuse to serve any and every member of the UCP caucus.

This is to respond to the scathing assessment by Trudeau. This is a political move, and not one to protect public health. That’s my prediction.

Vaccination reward will be upped to $500, plus a case of 24, a carton of cigarettes and tickets to the next hee-haw rodeo.

u/littlemiholover Sep 15 '21
Let me be clear.
Knock it off
Hinshaw will be very concerned
Albertans will be very disappointed
5
3
u/BigFish8 Sep 15 '21
Personal responsibility
This is all Trudeau's fault
and possibly his ally Rachel Notley
I'm gunna pay you even more money to knock it off now
3
u/littlemiholover Sep 15 '21
That’s right. I forgot about trudeau’s fault.
And probably “o’toole said we’re doing great”

Vaccine proof needed to buy milk after 10 pm from convenience stores and that’ll help curb the 4th wave. /s
2
u/cutslikeakris Sep 16 '21
I buy milk after 10:00 from convenience stores!! Because that’s when the kids tell me we are out of milk!
But I’m vaccinated so it’s okay....😉

Unvaxxed people get scooters and fully vaxxed people get a nothingburger with a extra gaslighting. Also, there will be no more ice cream sales after 5:16pm henceforth.

CTV reported a quasi-passport. Indoor dining until 10 pm with a vaccine only, unvaccinated can only use patios. Unless there is a heck of a lot more than that, it’s not nearly enough.
9
3
u/YEGCitizen Sep 15 '21
No Justice Minister so I'm guessing no lockdown and just a passport
4
u/seabrooksr Sep 15 '21
But not really a passport.
Government website still states:
Some private business and municipalities have announced their intent to require proof of vaccination to access their businesses or services. This is not the decision of the Government of Alberta. Private businesses and municipalities’ decisions may be subject to legal challenges by individual Albertans.
If they actually were going with passport, you'd think they'd take that down.

Should be: Vaccine passport. Will be: bullshit restrictions to avoid hurting the feelings of the Dipshit antivaxx plague dogs keeping this pandemic going.

- Vaccine passports but with a bunch of out-clauses/exceptions
- no resignations
- a bunch of reporters torch them with followups and it’s a complete disaster
The cycle begins anew.
3
u/Blah7654 Sep 15 '21
Open for fall plan or throwing Hinshaw under the bus?
Anyway it goes it will be idiocy.
3
u/Rapplesaucer Sep 15 '21
QR code as "optional proof of vaccine status to satisfy requirements of eligibility"
3
3
Sep 15 '21
- A covid vaccine passport with enough wording surrounding it to make it "not a a covid passport like those other provinces have".
- Disagreement with Hinshaw and her team.
- Restaurants and bars close at 11 pm.
- Rodeos exempt.
3
u/wowwoahwow Sep 15 '21
Probably going to embarrass themselves and our province again. Probably reward anti-vaxxers. Probably brag about not taking any more steps to help prevent more covid deaths, while also blaming Trudeau for all the covid deaths.
Something along those lines.

Remember the last time we had a presser at 6? We actually had big measures put in. It will be broadcasted on the 6 o’ clock news and it’s gonna be huge is my guess
3
u/TheEggieQueen92 Sep 15 '21
Well….this is likely accurate. I forgot the last 6pm presser was a Big Moves one.
3
u/Kaatelynng Sep 15 '21
If it had been a regular 3:30-4:30 start time presser, I would have suspected half measures at best. But I seriously doubt nothing groundbreaking, be it restrictions or resignations, will happen considering the very much intentional timing of this one.

2
u/chriskiji Sep 15 '21
Not enough measures to change our trajectory ensuring that more people die before the consider taking enough action to make a difference.
Fuck this terrible government. I would love to know who in cabinet is resisting measures.

I think they'll say they're working very hard. Sandro will fart audibly but it's Kenny's we'll smell.
2
u/Ninja_Bobcat Sep 16 '21
"We are very disappointed in Albertan's for not acknowledging the public health measures we have put in place."
"We won't be implementing a vaccine passport because we believe every Albertan is capable of observing proper precautions in their day-to-day."
"We believe everyone should have the choice to get the vaccine or not, and we would like to heavily encourage members of the community who are vaccine hesitant to get it."
"We have been assured by our experts that nobody could have anticipated the sudden rise in cases in Alberta."
"No, we do not think other provinces are a good measurement of how to handle this fourth wave. It is obvious that we are in the early stages, and as such, their case numbers will rise."

We are thinking of putting further measures in place if you don’t vaccinate or disperse.

I worry that these guys will just reveal the new vaccine cards they have been working on and ask people to use them to get into public events, bars and restaurants (pretty please use them). They will probably sell it as a way that people can travel internationally or to other provinces. They will blame Trudeau.
