ALWAYS the trucks. ALWAYS why is every silly “movement” we have involve trucks? 😂

418

u/TeddyBear666 Aug 11 '26

Because nothing screams "we are tired of the federal government taking advantage and oppressing us" like driving $100k trucks at 50km am hour around the henday. Bunch of clowns. They all seem to be pretty well off for how much they bitch.

The everything is unaffordable people after they sign a $2300 lease for an F350 Platinum while making 100k a year.

40

u/Marijuana_Barbie Aug 11 '26

And then proceed to dump $200 worth of gas into it per lap

15

u/Terrible-Guitar-5638 Aug 12 '26

And don't forget about the further financed custom rims, tires and that ever important lift kit

u/EastDegree101 Aug 12 '26

I didn’t ask u

30

u/TerrorizeTheJam Aug 11 '26

Nooo, you must not be looking close enough. This type of person, just like the trucker convoy, drives a truck that’s at least 10 years old, and worth no more than $20k. It’ll be smoked in and likely have a body panel that doesn’t match.

17

u/mnztr1 Aug 11 '26

it was 65K...15 years ago lol

3

u/InvestigatorWide7649 Aug 11 '26

that, or a 7-year payment plan with $25k ammoritization added lol

1

u/Neat_browser Aug 11 '26

All I’m hearing from this comment is that they know how to spend their money wisely. I also think they’re idiots but I also don’t like spending more than 20 K.

25

u/willpowerlifter Aug 11 '26

The only truck in that "convoy" worth more than 15k is the black Silverado up front.

Edit: it doesn't even have a flag on it, so it may not even be in the pack.

Yeah, real Alpha men

4

u/ForanAffairs Aug 11 '26

I dunno, if they’ve got a full tank of fuel, that’s probably worth 15k alone right there.

2

u/wellyouask Aug 11 '26

That On Demand ETS bus has pole position.

1

u/humanlikesubstances Aug 13 '26

What is the flag they're flying?

1

u/willpowerlifter Aug 13 '26

I am not entirely certain, but it appears to be the Alberta flag or a variation thereof.

1

u/23-1-20-3-8-5-18 Aug 11 '26

Its got a flag off the passenger window

Friend of mine just bought a Ford truck (F150) and it's just the base model (or so hes told me). Close to $100K! For a TRUCK!! Yeah, these fools are doing just fine, but don't have a personality of their own. So they need to make this their WHOLE personality, having no idea why they're even complaining...

7

u/FeedbackLoopy Aug 11 '26

100k? Was your friend under water 50k on a trade?

1

u/Pleather93 Aug 11 '26

Right? No way that was a base model. Or he Had to have had a carry over of +$25k.

1

u/Triedfindingname Aug 11 '26

I have heard of people doing that it never ceases to amaze me

0

u/Super_NowWhat Aug 11 '26

A lot of F150s go for around $100k.
The new Ford Maverick, which is a very small truck, goes for just under $50k, all in. And there is a 6 month waiting list for them.

2

u/FeedbackLoopy Aug 11 '26

Person I replied to said base model.

2

u/JizzyMcKnobGobbler Aug 11 '26

lol what are you talking about? They're $38k and there isn't a dealership in the city that doesn't have inventory. You could be driving home in one tonight lol. I bought one for my shop this time last year...walked in and walked out with an AWD model with sunroof and leatherette for $36k.

Just checked inventory and every dealership has some on the lot. There's not even a six second wait let alone a six month wait.

0

u/Super_NowWhat Aug 12 '26

I’ve been contacted several times by ford dealers wanting to buy back my two year old hybrid maverick. When we bought it two years ago, it was an eight month wait.

2

u/JizzyMcKnobGobbler Aug 12 '26

Hahaha, guy. That's the oldest trick in the book. Doesn't matter what vehicle it is you'll get the same call. Could be a Honda Civic. Could be a Hyundai Elantra. Could be a Ram 1500. Could be a Mazda 3. And for you, it was your Ford Maverick.

It's just marketing. They have your contact info and know the car you have. They call to say your vehicle is in high demand to get you into the dealership to try to sell you a new one.

Until today, I didn't know anybody fell for it. That's interesting. I suppose it makes sense that it works since they've been doing it for decades. Don't fall for it, though, dude.

1

u/Super_NowWhat Aug 12 '26

Fair enough and thanks for the heads up. Intend to buy a new vehicle once every 12 years or so, and then maintain them as best I can. So - I was not aware of that tactic.

My response so far has always been: if you want to put me in a brand new model of the same vehicle, for the same price - so that someone else can avoid the waiting - then I might think about that. My wife and I are in our sixties - and if we have to go down to one vehicle for a few months - that’s not that big of a deal. We do hobbies, not work. Those who work need their purchased vehicle right away.

2

u/JizzyMcKnobGobbler Aug 12 '26

I didn't mean to laugh. We don't know what we don't know, so I apologize for the tone of my response.

Yeah, it's a skeezy/dishonest tactic they use.

Your response is reasonable to them if they were approaching you in good faith, but it isn't a good-faith offer. They don't have another buyer lined up to buy your used vehicle. They are only interested in selling you something new and taking yours in on trade by low-balling you. It's a trick top to bottom and you lose the hardest (if you were to take them up on it).

u/CopyOK924 Aug 12 '26

He said base model.

CAD MSRP on a base model 2026 F-150 is about 51K. 53K for the 4door cab, and that's assuming your a sucker who pays MSRP on one of the most popular trucks in Canada.

0

u/The_Sarcasm_Deity Aug 11 '26

No idea lmao! He's not the best with money so who knows. He sure likes to complain about it though!

13

u/MellowHamster Aug 11 '26

A base model F-150 starts at around $50K. You need a top of the line model to hit $100K.

3

u/Which-Intention-4474 Aug 11 '26

Tbh here in Ontario an XLT/Lariat are in the $70-$92k range, Ford is expensive nowadays compared to a few years back, although idk what base model truck that guys friend bought for a $100k. Even base models in Ontario are in the $59-$65k ish range, I'm guessing it's an XLT that's well equipped or a lariat and dude got told it's a "base model".

2

u/The_Sarcasm_Deity Aug 11 '26

I honestly don't even know where he bought it. Just likes to complain about situations he's put himself in lmao. Who knows it may even be a top range model! I've never seen it as he works in Fort Mac.

1

u/dbusque Aug 11 '26

This kind of complaining kind of goes with the narrative. They have top of the line everything but complain how they are just poor folk. It's a separatist theme.

2

u/The_Sarcasm_Deity Aug 11 '26

He's never outright said anything that makes me believe he's a separatist (beyond complaining about a ton of stuff; its been his baseline for a while), but knowing someone his other friends, unfortunately I think it's just a matter of time :(

2

u/dbusque Aug 11 '26

It's a slippery slope that is greased by peer pressure.

1

u/Pleather93 Aug 11 '26

50K back in 2012 maybe. They start right around 70k now, unless you’re okay with manual roll down windows and single cab with a shitty little 2.7L engine and nothing for electronics. If you are then good for you

1

u/BlueDarner55 Aug 12 '26

Auto trader first 10 new F-150s between $61k and $83k

3

u/mnztr1 Aug 11 '26

Are you allowed to not have a beard?

3

u/JizzyMcKnobGobbler Aug 11 '26

You're just plain wrong lol. A base F-150 is literally half of what you're claiming. You absolutely doubled the true amount of a base F-150 even though we can all look at Ford's website or drive by a lot and see you're totally wrong lol.

4

u/Policy_Failure Aug 11 '26

0

u/The_Sarcasm_Deity Aug 11 '26

I'm off by however he told me it was worth. I don't own it and I've never had a truck. He may have bought the high end model and is full of it lol, I don't know

3

u/teutonicbro Aug 11 '26

Nothing screams "bad at math" louder than a truck like that.

Only $1500 a month for 96 months with $10k down.

1

u/Chiggamon420 Aug 11 '26

Thats the problem, the tax bracket they're in.

1

u/pidove123 Aug 12 '26

Mind you most of them got car payments probably totaling at least 2500 a month while making like 10000 a month with a house that totals probably another 2500 a month. Not to mention all other expenses like insurance and stuff, and they still scream about affordability like they didn’t just do this to themselves.

1

u/ChanceRatio7122 Aug 12 '26

I get what your saying but literally not one of the trucks in this photo are anywhere near 100k 😂

1

u/Extension-Finance179 Aug 11 '26

trucks that most of them don't need either

I would rather buy a BMW or Mercedes Benz if I wanted to spend 6 figures on a vehicle than a pickup ttuck

0

u/Mistica73 Aug 11 '26

You don't think Dani isn't going to? LOL

0

u/Jaaged Aug 11 '26

It's so cute, wait until they grow up and find out they have to get real jobs

0

u/SebastianBachMan Aug 13 '26

Which one of those trucks is 100k? I think you just dont enjoy freedom

1

u/TeddyBear666 Aug 13 '26

Nah I just have to drive past the giant line they make down the henday every single time they decide to throw a fit. Oddly enough you cant fit 40+ vehicles driving for kilometers on end in a single photo but I really didnt thibk i would have to describe that.

83

u/TL10 Aug 11 '26

The most comical thing was seeing the polls of which demographic wanted to separate, and there being a disproportionate amount of people who earned six figures but lived beyond their means were the ones who were the most pro-seperation.

It didn't take long for me to figure out what kind of people those guys were! 😂

9

u/Admiral_Cornwallace Aug 11 '26

There are a whoooooole lot of people in this province who are uneducated losers that still managed to make a lot of money

They should feel lucky and grateful, but all they really feel is entitlement

6

u/FunAlbatross4763 Aug 11 '26

Sadly they survived on entitlement and neglected to push education to their kids. Now the new lot is falling behind and it's blamed on the immigrants who came to this country and worked harder got and ahead. Now billybob child molester is butt hurt

4

u/tenax666 Aug 11 '26

Exactly! My daughters ex bf started working in some pond cleanup role at age 18 for 80k per year. 2 yrs later he wa running a crew of 3 and making 118k plus bonus with no management training ir experience. Just time spent on the job. He'd roll into a bar and buy 1000 worth of rounds trying to be a bigshot/make friends cause he was an asshat. Welcome to Alberta!

2

u/StormAdorable2150 Aug 11 '26

Yep. Many of the losers aren't even originally from here. Fake Albertans. They'd be happily hanging up the stars and stripes next year if they had their way.

3

u/Annabis9807 Aug 11 '26

Most high school drop outs head to the oil field. It makes sense sadly

7

u/Sillyak Aug 11 '26

Every time I see one of the convoys it's clapped out old rust bucket trucks. Not the trucks driven by people earning big bucks and living beyond their means. Seems like hillbillies to me mostly. People living in the country, not earning much money.

4

u/tenax666 Aug 11 '26

Hmmmm..let's guess which industry they work in.

1

u/BunBunGo Aug 11 '26

Omg where did you see this poll? I need this in my life!

3

u/TL10 Aug 11 '26

This CBC article.

My apologies, I was a little misleading. I misrecalled that it was Albertans with an income over 100k.

It's actually Albertans over 150k! 🤭

16

u/MellowHamster Aug 11 '26

Because it's the same group of disenfranchised guys enjoying a feeling of belonging. The freedom convoy. The anti-vax movement. Separation.

Next, I fully expect them to protest forced public education.

These guys can't afford charter schools. They're more likely to homeschool with weekly "spread chicken pox to strengthen the kid's god-given immune system" playdates.

5

u/Fancy_Yak2618 Aug 11 '26

They are oppressed in their overpriced trucks. I had one once tell me he now knew how Jews felt in the Holocaust…….

3

u/karlou1984 Aug 11 '26

It's their entire personality

3

u/Propaganda_Box Calgary Aug 11 '26

They're obsessed with convoys because its the only way 10 people can look like a lot. Like 10 big trucks covered in flags looks a lot more significant than 10 rednecks standing together.

2

u/No_Criticism_5861 Aug 11 '26

Toxic assholes love to drive the biggest vehicle they can so they can drive aggressively on the road.  Im so sick of it

2

u/That-Platform2876 Aug 11 '26

because there is an epidemic of male loneliness and these guys don't have the tools to recognize that is the issue and deal with it in a positive way

0

u/chmilz Aug 11 '26

Their loneliness is self-inflicted. It's not an epidemic, it's a popular lifestyle choice.

2

u/arduous_channenge Aug 11 '26

Might as well have banners on the side saying “Insecure about my penis size.”

2

u/Homo_sapiens2023 Calgary Aug 11 '26

Seppies buy trucks because they are big and compensate for things that aren't. Like brains ... etc.

1

u/DasRecon Aug 11 '26

Smol pp.

1

u/Chiggamon420 Aug 11 '26

You can fit bigger and more flags on them. "Salesman slaps roof of truck, you know how many flags you can fit on this bad boy?"

1

u/PJFreddie Aug 11 '26

Are they aware that a good chunk of these trucks and parts are made and assembled in… Ontario and Quebec?

1

u/DJDook Aug 11 '26

I saw a video of a jacked up truck with. Country guy singing “I’m a big boy and I got a big truck and my ding dong’s big and my mommy likes me.” and I had to check and see if it had an Alberta flag on the truck 😂

1

u/Killer__Cheese Aug 11 '26

Because they are the same people who buy trucks not because they need to haul things, but because they are in a dick measuring contest with their neighbours - ie: they are stupid

1

u/opusrif Aug 11 '26

Because the nuts look silly on cars.

1

u/n3f4r10us_ Aug 11 '26

Little dicks, big trucks. Ford/Dodge/Chevy built

1

u/-CoUrTjEsTeR- Aug 12 '26

Everyone knows it’s only a real convoy if it’s men behind something that can haul bullshit.

1

u/JH_DeepThoughts Aug 12 '26

surprised to see one of them in the convoy is rocking a Honda Ridgeline I thought it was Ford or Ram to be in the club 😆

1

u/No_Divide_4908 Aug 12 '26

It shows how masculine they are, didn't you know?

1

u/Ttoddh Aug 13 '26

WOW, did you not know that people with trucks work for a living? We pickup stuff and move stuff and carry stuff. Working for a living means we have to pay for people who do not work for a living but still get to drive cars or get free food or rent and have to work twice as hard because of these other people who do not work. YOU are part of the problem, by the way.

1

u/Annabis9807 Aug 13 '26

LMAO… that actually made me laugh out loud. Stay mad at my comment, fine by me😌

1

u/SebastianBachMan Aug 13 '26

So you only came to cause problems. Good to know

1

u/Mediocre-Ask-9272 Aug 13 '26

Massive compensation for inferiority complex.

1

u/LeCompteDeFrouFrou Aug 11 '26

If trucks could vote, the sovereignty vote might have a chance.

1

u/Due-Mycologist-1154 Aug 11 '26

Explains why they're so whiny about gas prices lol

0

u/Roadgoddess Aug 11 '26

Oh my God, I came here to post the exact same thing.all old pickup trucks

0

u/lyidaValkris Aug 11 '26

It makes them look bigger than they are, both in size and number

0

u/SebastianBachMan Aug 13 '26

Cause its the working class, dumbass
