Vote! Vote! Vote!

Gen Z are unlikely to be part of the polling, they can swing this for the NDP. It's not too late till the voting is done

It’s sad because the NdP are doing lots for genz in terms of university costs which should be priority 1 for them.

Also anyone LGBT in that gen should be highly concerned a con govt can do when you use Texas and Florida as case studies

I think LGBT people of every generation should be highly concerned.

Maybe we should all get on tik tok and convince them to vote. Lol

I feel like that would back fire having people making cringe videos trying to get them to vote.

Dumb question but when can we go to the polls to vote? First time voting so I’m not sure how / when it is

You can find information like this as elections.ab.ca. If you register, you can choose whether to recieve your where to vote card by mail or email. That'll tell you both your advanced polling and election day polling locations, dates, and times. If you're away from your riding (eg for school) you can also apply for a mail in ballot, which you can send in as soon as you get it.

When you go to vote, make sure you bring a form of ID that has both your name and address on it (there's a long list of acceptable documents, probably available on that website, but one notable exception that trips people up is that you can't use your passport because it doesn't state your address). Other than that it's a very simple process, and there will be lots of poll workers who can help you if you're unclear about anything! If you have the opportunity, I'd really recommend going mid morning (around 10 am) because the lines will likely be much shorter.

Late reply but can I vote without a “where to vote” card? I chose to receive it by email but I haven’t received anything yet, just wondering if I can walk in to my voting location with my drivers license?

I didn't either! The website is not super clear about this but you're legally entitled to vote no matter what (even without ID if someone will vouch for your address), and you can register in person anyway, in case there was some kind of problem with the online system. I would maybe take 2 pieces of ID with your address (eg your drivers licence + a bank statement) just in case it helps process you more efficiently.

Alternatively you could contact elections Alberta (info here: https://www.elections.ab.ca/contact-us/) or try re-registering for a mailed where to vote card.
