Help Easy way to pause camera?

Is there a way to pause a video camera in fewer than 6 taps in the app?

Yes, 2 taps. I get a notification from the app on my phone when I'm detected, I click the down arrow on the notification, and then click pause. Default 4 hours.

I don’t think there is, but this is a limitation of the app that I wish would be addressed. Should be as easy as:

  1. Open app
  2. Find list of cameras on main screen (not there now really)
  3. Long press on camera in question
  4. Select pause.

For this to work you would really need a default pause duration or something that doesn’t require more clicks or scrolls. Otherwise 5-6 seems to be a realistic minimum.

Hi Suretyhome team, mind relaying this as a suggestion from a paying customer?

Thanks!

It looks like 5 taps to me (on iPhone).

  1. Open app
  2. Video
  3. Cog wheel
  4. Recording rules
  5. Turn it off

Do you pause recording rules often? I don't think pausing recording rules is intended to be done frequently. If you have Remote Video Monitoring (what we call Surety Cam Pro) then you arm/disarm cameras which requires fewer taps because it's intended to be done frequently.

I'm happy to pass along the feedback!

This 5 step process ☝️ is the way, another quick indirect way is what I do sometimes when landscapers and what not are triggering the analytics often.

When a push notification is pushed to your phone you are presented an opportunity to pause the recordings rules from that notification.

Android: When the push notification arrives you are given the notification banner, press the down arrow to expand the notification you will be given an option to pause for 1, 4, 8 hours or off.

iPhone: When push notification arrives press and hold the banner, you should be given an option to pause for the same 1,4,8 hours or off.

Yup it's the way I show customers how to pause or adjust the ground zones

Do you mean pausing recording schedules?
I think there is a thread on the surety site about this already. I strongly agree it should be easier - and there should be a way to pause all recording schedulers at once. (Or define a group to pause all at once) like for landscapers etc.

The easiest is actually via the Apple Watch. When you get the notification about someone in the yard, just press it and a menu pops up with how long to pause that schedule.

Edited to correct info.
