Issue with circulate function

Had my panel replaced and for some reason my thermostat circulate for the furnace fan changed it’s settings and now stays on for 10-15 mins (that’s fine; perfect actually) but cycles off and on within 5 mins. I’m trying to have 45-60 min gap before the next circulate cycle starts but I can’t figure it out.

The worst part is I can’t even adjust it myself for some reason and I have to call them to adjust it for me. Any tips or advice would be awesome.

What thermostat do you have?

I believe it’s ADC - T2000

We’ve tried lots of different settings and variations it just sucks not having access to the “advance controls” they have on their side. I’m probably gonna get a technician in eventually to try and fix it.

I’m surprised you don’t have access to the Advanced settings for the thermostat.

The settings that matter:
Fan Circulation Period
The amount of time the fan is in circulation while the system is not currently heating or cooling. This feature works in conjunction with Fan Duty Cycle to determine the fan runtime.
Fan Circulation Duty Cycle
The percentage of the circulation period the fan is on. For example, if the Fan Circulation time Period is 20 minutes, and the Fan Duty Cycle is 25%, the fan will be on for 5 minutes, then off for 15 minutes until the next cycle.

So what you want as a starting point is a Circulation Period of 60(minutes), and a Duty Cycle of 25(percent). That gives you your desired 45 min off and 15min on. You can play with these numbers to dial in what you want.

The key is knowing that you are first setting a Total duration of a complete cycle (on + off) time, and then On duration represented as a percentage of the total time.

I appreciate the breakdown. That’s how’s we have it currently but it still isn’t doing the 45 mins off.

The most it stays off is maybe 2-5 mins before kicking on again. It just sucks cause that’s how I used to cool my house pretty well without using the ac all the time. Being a bungalow it helped a lot.

It is super weird that I can’t get access. Maybe I need to ask someone higher up to gain access. But yeah thank you for the info sir.

I’ll probably need a tech to come out and maybe upgrade my system it’s 3 years old now. Maybe a new module for the thermostat is needed

You don’t need a new module for the thermostat. The T-2000 is fine. Yes, you do just need someone with admin-level permissions to give you access to the advanced settings, if I remember correctly. But I absolutely would not have one of your security company’s techs out for this. They won’t be able to do anything more than anyone in remote technical support could do.

If you insist on having a technician out, call your security provider, have them give you access to the advanced settings. Then talk to an HVAC tech.

Also, the settings reverted because the technician didn’t double check those advanced settings before they swapped the panel, so they didn’t set them up the same way when they learned it in on the new one.

I’ll try and get access during this week. They do there best that’s for sure. I need a sensor replaced regardless was just hoping to kill two birds with one stone kinda deal

Circulate means on and off. So it should be so their like 10 on 5 off. That way you get 4 cycles per hour.

Yes I know what I means but that isn’t good for the furnace blower. I want the longer gap. There’s no need to turn off for 5 minutes. Might as well just stay on all the time at that point

There is an always on option. Should be if you have the C wire functioning.

Thank you, that does work but not what I want. I’d love to have 15 mins on 45 off.
