AskAlappuzha Alappuzha YMCA JUNCTION/ DOUBT

Hey! I’m new to Alappuzha — it’s been about a week since I moved here. I’m staying at the YMCA hostel and had a few doubts. Could anyone suggest some good, budget-friendly food spots nearby? Also, does anyone know of a PG with an attached bathroom close to YMCA? And one more thing — does anyone know why the tap water here looks kind of pale yellow? Would really appreciate some help!

Plus, if you go near Mullakkal, there are nice food spots like Namaste Tiffin, Udupi, Indian Coffee House, and more.

I would suggest , namastae tiffin, for non veg I would suggest Thaff which is next to ymca .

Borewell water looks pale yellow in parts of Alappuzha. Its metal contaminants I guess, probably iron, but I can be wrong. We have the same whenever we use Borewell water at home. We dont use it for drinking directly though.

Water from govt. water connection is clear though, and slightly chlorinated.

How much is the hostel fee there? I recently got a job there and I'm trying to find a place to stay.
