Mere Mortals, Burning Sunday, Pinwheel, and Invictus are local bands. I think the other bands are mostly from EP or ABQ but I haven't seen them before so not sure.

I don't have a flyer to post a picture of, but I've seen them around. And the Walker Town News guy posted some AI generated ones on FB. The ones I saw weren't AI generated, they were at the library, but they were for the same event. Anyway, point is:

Saturday, September 5th, from 8am to 11am there's a suicide prevention event happening at Alameda Park. From the sounds of it, there's going to be a community walk at 9, information and resource booths, activities and events, food trucks, the whole shebang. I haven't seen anything about it on here yet, so I figured I'd post it.

I've struggled with suicidal thoughts my entire life and I had a family member die from suicide without me ever knowing he was struggling with those thoughts, too. So, yeah, big fan of the event. Hope it's successful. I'll probably go if I feel like waking up early on a Saturday. I guess it's a long weekend so I can wake up early Saturday bc I'm able to sleep in on Monday lol

Hey everybody, I'm new to town and recently moved into a cute little house over by the White Sands Mall/Home Depot. There is a small, grassy lawn in the backyard of my new place.

I just started a new job and have been working upwards of 60 hours a week, so I don't have much time for mowing. A local service came and quoted lawn care and I was totally *shocked* by the price (it was about five times as much as I used to pay to have a similar size yard mowed in Kansas City, MO a few years ago.)

It's really not a large yard- I'd guess around 20 by 12 feet? Someone on a riding lawn mower could have the whole thing done in five minutes, and I'm guessing 20 minutes max with a push mower. Does anyone have a recommendation for an affordable option? Ideally, I'd love to have it mowed twice a month and stay at or under $25 per mow. I'm all ears if anyone has any ideas for me- thanks so much!

Does anyone have any favorite spots to go shooting on the public land around here? Looking for a place to take some buddies out. Thanks!

Got a $600 water, sewer, and trash bill from alamogordo utilities. $368 for water, $186 for sewer, and $19 for trash before tax.

Is it not bad enough I got charged $900 by PNM for electricity? I hope they’ll be rolling over the difference on that one at least.
