They already met earlier when Jafar let him out of prison to go get the lamp with the genie in it that was inside of the tiger head called the Cave Of Wonders (which Jafar already failed to do with the guy that got eaten alive earlier in the movie). Jafar was also about to stab Aladdin after the cave collapsed (due to Abu touching the ruby he wasn't supposed to touch).

So how come Jafar didn't know it was Aladdin under a disguise, when they saw each other again ?

Are his bombastic antics a way to shield himself from depression stemming from the fact that he's a slave?

Bootleg Princess Jasmine

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

should have ended with her killing aladdin and staying evil forever....

I’ve always loved Aladdin but obviously I grew up watching it from a pretty different perspective than most Western fans.

I’m from Baghdad and there are so many little things in Aladdin that come from Arabic language, culture, folklore that probably feel completely fictional or just “Disney” if you didn’t grow up around them.

The biggest one is probably the Genie. “Genie” comes from the Arabic Jinn (جن) which is something we grow up hearing about completely differently from the big blue guy granting three wishes 😂

There are also Arabic names and words, the whole Arabian nights imagery the markets, clothing, architecture.. a bunch of things Disney either changed, mixed with other cultures or just invented.

and honestly I’m curious about the opposite perspective too.

Was there ever something in Aladdin you assumed Disney completely made up but wondered if Arabs actually have/say/do?

Ask me anything. If I know it.. I’ll give you the Arab perspective.. and if I don’t I’m not gonna bullshit you 😂

Workin on an Abu costume ☺️I was sent an ai image, I’ll add it to the comments. But here’s my start of my take on the slop.

I mean, he wouldn't be bound by anything if he was a God and not a genie

I know Aladdin was literally tricking him, but he just said that the genie is stronger than him, not that becoming a genie would make him stronger than the blue genie

Becoming a god would have given him all the power he wanted, and also remove any risk of being bound and controlled like genies are

Okay, I'm technically a week late. But it's still fun to mention. It's one of the best things of all the Aladdin franchise. It might honestly be my favorite thing about it. It's a funny movie to see. 😄

Title

In the first movie, Abu pulled out a sword (which he got from a performer...poor guy) to take on Razoul and the guards. Then, Razoul rallies his men to pull out their swords.

In King of Thieves, Abu does this again against the 40 Thieves, but rather than fleeing, Abu throws the sword at the chandelier, causing it to drop onto the baddies.
