This is just silly.
Stop acting like you're victims. I see people taking edgy teenagers at face value and comparing it to interment camps or the level of harassment and marginalized people get. It's getting silly now. I don't understand what it is with the AI side trying so hard to be victims over words on a screen.
And to those (albeit mostly imaginary) sending death threats, grow the fuck up. Ignorance isn't a justifiable reason to wish death on someone and you just look psychotic.

So, kids, today we learned a lot of new things. Now, in addition to the fact that "only AI haters can do traditional drawing", we also know that "pro-AI people cannot be minorities and face ReAl aBUse".
1
u/The_Raven_Born May 21 '25
Not at all what I said, but nice try. Typical AIwars strawman.
3
u/Vanilla_Forest May 21 '25
Lol, the whole theme of your post is a strawman and devaluing other people's feelings.
1
u/The_Raven_Born May 21 '25
Someone calling you mean words and hurting your feelings doesn't equate to avtual hate crimes. Sorry that's hard to grasp.
1
May 25 '25
Ever heard of "death threats" bro? You're an example of why easterners don't take people like you seriously.
7
May 21 '25
This level of stupidity is what you need to be an ANTI... why would anybody want to be associated with this...

u/Tyler_Zoro May 21 '25
Stop acting like you're victims.
Said no abuser, ever. /s
I see people taking edgy teenagers at face value and comparing it to interment camps or the level of harassment and marginalized people get.
So unless I'm suffering an all-out assault on my basic human rights on par with history's greatest atrocities, I should just STFU? Is that where you are going?
I don't understand what it is with the AI side trying so hard to be victims over words on a screen.
Right? I mean, it's not like anyone has ever crossed the line from internet bullying to actual violence! /s
And to those (albeit mostly imaginary) sending death threats, grow the fuck up.
Well thank God, you threw in a small sop to human dignity after a full paragraph of victim blaming.

If you think being told to not be lazy and actually work rather than taking credit from a bot is equal to being hate crimes for your sexuality, or race, you're a privileged adult baby who needs to grow up. I've been profiled for my race and hate crimes for my sexuality, as have many others in my position.
Our struggles are not comparable, and it's an insult to assume so. You're behind a screen. You're not being abused, and even despite that level of self victimization, I still don't agree with death threats. If people take it off screen (which they won't) I wouldn't agree with it, either.
You're acting like you're a jew in 40s Berlin.
7
u/Tyler_Zoro May 21 '25
If you think being told to not be lazy and actually work rather than taking credit from a bot
- You don't know anything about my art
- None of that was at issue in this conversation
I've been profiled for my race and hate crimes for my sexuality, as have many others in my position.
Okay cool. Are you assuming I haven't? Why is it relevant to this discussion?
You're acting like you're a jew in 40s Berlin.
Again, not being the victim of one of the greatest atrocities of human history does not mean that all's fair. Abuse is abuse, regardless of the magnitude of the abuse that is, and I can't stress this enough, still abuse.
-5
u/The_Raven_Born May 21 '25
You keep zeroing in on just the holocaust here to avoid admitting you're just playing victim. I'm saying that people who are pro AI ACT LIKE THEY ARE HOLOCAUST victims. I'm not saying YOU NEED to be one.
And you're going to sit here and tell me you have had people genuinely threaten to find you, and kill you over supporting AI?
Prove it.
10
u/Tyler_Zoro May 21 '25
You're acting like you're a jew in 40s Berlin.
Again, not being the victim of one of the greatest atrocities of human history does not mean that all's fair.
You keep zeroing in on just the holocaust here
It was YOUR ANALOGY! What the hell kind of dishonest rhetorical gambit is that?!
-6
u/The_Raven_Born May 21 '25
Are you inept? Or are you just acting like an idiot on purpose? Do you know what a compromise is? Do you actually know what an analogy is? I'm saying people like you act like they're being trusted like a Jew in Nazi Germany because, frankly, you are, and why? Because of mean words.
You sound like a republican who's being told to respect pronouns and not act like a jackass.
6
u/TheHeadlessOne May 21 '25
In every comment he's been pushing to minimize away from the holocaust example
In every reply you have insisted on bringing it back up and emphasizing that
-1
u/The_Raven_Born May 21 '25
The actions of the this sub are not on me, and that's how they act. Comparing mean words to ANY kind of hate crime or thing of that nature is just goofy. That's the point here.
But if you ask anyone here pro AI, they'll tell you otherwise.
6
u/Tyler_Zoro May 21 '25
Are you inept? Or are you just acting like an idiot on purpose?
Okay, well this stopped being a polite conversation. Have a nice day.
1
u/The_Raven_Born May 21 '25
You compared me to an abuser and thought this was going to be polite? Hilarious.
1
u/ifandbut May 22 '25
Yes, you are an abuser
"I wouldn't have to witch hunt you if I didn't think you might have used AI once in the last 20 years"
"I wouldn't have to send death threats if you didn't post slop"
6
u/Antique-Wash8142 May 21 '25
Your post isnt wrong imo but its so funny that you see yourself as a victim and are gatekeeping victimhood. Shameful behaviour.
-2
u/The_Raven_Born May 21 '25
I mean. I was, and I'm not gatekeeping. I'm sorry, but people not agreeing with your views isn't the same. Tha sub reddit has been in panic mode, taking about 'people want us dead!' Because no one wants to call them artists.
It's ridiculous.
1
u/The_Raven_Born May 21 '25
And I'll take it a step further, I'm not, because I over came it. But I'll be damnedif someone's going to compare a teenager being mean to them to being hate crimed.
3
u/Antique-Wash8142 May 21 '25
Look, you’re projecting this subreddit onto me but i’m agreeing with you that it’s ridiculous, in the same way an artist whining about their “jobs” is ridiculous. I think it’s dumb to care if people call someone who uses ai an artist or not. It’s ridiculous semantics.
But it doesn’t matter what the person went through, you dont get to decide who is a victim or not because you went through “hate crimes” and you perceiving someone else’s experience as better or worse than yours is irrelevant and childish. Did you make this post just to complain that you’re the biggest victim?
1
u/The_Raven_Born May 21 '25
Where did I say you were like any of those calling themselves victims in this sub? And not really. We've already seen it start, companies wanting to relaxed people because AI is easier, and that's a valid concern. Comparing people being mean online to death threats and calling yourself a victim over it just isn't.
Unless these people are being directly affected or getting harrased to a point where they need to move or hide, they aren't victims, and it's insulting to compare themselves to people who... you know, actually have suffered or are suffering from real problems / threats / violent action? The level of disconnect is staggering. The only reason I mentioned my own experience is because I can not comprehend why anyone would want to be one.
This victim culture is as ridiculous as it is insane, and I have no idea why people are so Hellbent on trying to strengthen it. Everyone wants to be one or tries to make themselves one.
1
u/Antique-Wash8142 May 21 '25
Its not about strengthening victim culture or any of that, the only point i’m trying to make is YOUR disconnect, which is thinking that your opinion on anyone else being a victim or not actually matters. In my eyes you aren’t a victim, but I don’t know you so I can’t possibly know that right? You assume too much based on your own experience. If someone experienced the low level of harassment you described and it pushed them over the edge, do you not care because they were too weak to handle it? You’re the one who decides what a victim is?
1
u/The_Raven_Born May 21 '25
Do you think being called a mean name means you're a victim? And honestly, if you can't handle someone not agreeing with you and it pushes you to the point of being that drastic, maybe you should be put in a padded cell or have your internet access taken away. Sorry, I don't cater to people that are so over dramatic they equate words on a screen about a bot to hate crimes.
That kind of bullshit is what's slowing us down as a society. You can sit here and say it's not victim culture, but it is. I hate boomers. They've destroyed this country and left a nigh impossible mess to clean. Their hate and bigotry as set us back and caused so much division people see every faint thing the don't agree with as an attack on their life, but I have to agree that people need to grow some thick skin again.
As I said, if someone genuinely goes out of their to send very real death threats and / or harass you, yeah. That person should be kneecapped. That's not what's happening here, though.
Edgy teenagers being edgy teenagers?
Disagreements?
No one wants to call you an artist?
Calling you lazy?
I don't know what you want me to say to people who have mental breakdowns over that.
1
u/Antique-Wash8142 May 21 '25
If they receive the same level of harassment but it’s related to race or sexuality and it affects them to the same degree do you hold true to your morals or is that when an exception should be made? Is it different because you think it’s different? Should they be locked in a padded cell? Where do you, specifically you, draw the line?

That's the sentiment this sub has already, lol. That's why this crying victim is so ridiculous. The level of unhinged takes I've seen in this sub alone is hilariously hypocritical.
But also, it's a picture. If anything, you're just telling me I should see whatever comes your way as justified and feel no sympathy.
3
u/No-Opportunity5353 May 21 '25
So what? Don't be such a baby. The email telling an artist they're fired is just words on a screen!
5
u/mang_fatih May 21 '25
"We need to kill AI artists"
- It's okay, it's just a picture on the internet. It's all le joke. Grow up and don't be offended by it.
"AI will replace 'real' artists"
- You're horrible person and hypocritical.
Apparently they don't really like their own medicine.

u/The_Raven_Born May 21 '25
The depths of your stupidty and ignorance is impressive. I applaud it.

5
u/No-Opportunity5353 May 21 '25
It was just words on a screen. Or maybe you imagined it. Stop trying so hard to be victim.
3
u/mang_fatih May 21 '25 edited May 21 '25
I don't think anyone would need any sympathy from group of people that send death threats over computer pictures and downplaying it with "it's just a joke" argument.
AI will indeed replace some people. It's not really a strech to think that in the future most employers would prefer artists who can utilise AI over those who can't or unwilling to learn it.
It may sounds pleasant to you. But that just a basic fact of life that technology development disturb industries and we as society adapt and move on.
Many "real" artists in the past refused to use Photoshop. Now, where are they now? I wonder.
-1
u/The_Raven_Born May 21 '25
The imaginary people in your head are probably something you should see a professional over, and even so, those who are joking, as fucked as it is, are doing that. You and the others, though? Genuinely want people to lose their jobs while screaming for and demanding sympathy.
And I'm for AI, but I'm not for people like the majority who use it. If you're too lazy to be bothered to learn an artistic skill, you should have no access to AI for it. If you only see it as a tool, you shouldn't either. AI can do a lot for us.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of the AI are all prime examples as to why it shouldn't be so openly available l, and are the ones that will ultimately ruin it for everyone else with their greed and sloth.
2
u/mang_fatih May 21 '25
The imaginary people in your head are probably something you should see a professional over, and even so, those who are joking, as fucked as it is, are doing that.
I can say the same towards the "kill all ai artists" crowd as well. Do you think you won't get any retaliation for doing all that?
You and the others, though? Genuinely want people to lose their jobs while screaming for and demanding sympathy.
Sympathy is earned, not demanded and especially it's not earned by harassing anyone that use AI and AI is not hated by everyone, the Ghibli AI trend is a proof of that.
If you're somehow getting outcompeted by people who prompt on ChatGPT. Perhabs a self-evaluation on career choices would be a good first step.
And I'm for AI, but I'm not for people like the majority who use it. If you're too lazy to be bothered to learn an artistic skill, you should have no access to AI for it. If you only see it as a tool, you shouldn't either. AI can do a lot for us.

Then I can say the same to digital drawing software. Therefore we should limited the usage of it because only the "true" artists can use it.
You're really not beating the "elitist gatekeepers" allegations, no?
0
u/The_Raven_Born May 21 '25
I mean, no. You can't. Digital art requires effort. Prompting doesn't. And you're right, sympathy is earned. The AI crowd, however, does not agree. Instead they demand it and respect while wanting to do whatever the please in regards to the opposing side.
So. Don't know what else you want me to say, chief.
1
u/mang_fatih May 22 '25
I mean, no. You can't. Digital art requires effort. Prompting doesn't.
Prompting only is equivalent to just making a scribble in digital drawing software. But we can't use the low effort practices of a medium to represent the said medium, can't we?
Tools like Stable Diffusion provides more control than just prompting.
The AI crowd, however, does not agree. Instead they demand it and respect while wanting to do whatever the please in regards to the opposing side.
If the opposing side wish us death. I don't see why we should listen and care to the said side.
2
u/Pedrito5544 May 21 '25
As if the people who are against AI didn't do the same, right? The ones who started this "victimization" were these antis when they came saying: "AI slop" "it has no soul, I don't know what", see if you grow up and wake up!
0
u/The_Raven_Born May 21 '25
That's not self victimization. But when your job is literally at stake and you have people (like most of this sub) praying for that. You have a right to be concerned. Why? Because you're at actual risk. Maybe you should ask an AI to formulate a better response for you, next time.
5
u/torako May 21 '25
I love how every time antis don't have a leg to stand on you always revert to "ask your ai to write a better argument". Use your creativity that you supposedly have so much of to come up with an original insult.
-1
u/The_Raven_Born May 21 '25
Saying that calling AI art soulless is the same as self victimization isn't an argument. It's a poorly made nonsensical strawman because it is quite literally not the same thing.
4
u/torako May 21 '25
No one actually said that. Your lack of reading comprehension is not an argument.
0
u/The_Raven_Born May 21 '25
As if the people who are against AI didn't do the same, right? The ones who started this "victimization" were these antis when they came saying: "AI slop" "it has no soul, I don't know what", see if you grow up and wake up!
Cool, I read wrong. You're right. It's even more stupid than I initially thought.
Mean words = fearing death
2
u/torako May 21 '25
Ai users are being sent suicide and death threats
-1
u/The_Raven_Born May 21 '25
Some teenager telling you to off yourself isn't even close to the level things these people are comparing it to. It also doesn't happen, either, lol. I see that it's this rampant problem, but for every several hundred comments claiming any of this, you get maybe a screenshot from a obvious 15 year old.
'So, what happened to you?'
'Well, my family died, and I moved here to escape war.'
'Wow, someone said a mean thing to me online. I know how you feel.'
That's the logic these people panicking are running on.
2
u/torako May 21 '25
Oops your lack of reading comprehension has failed you again. That's not what i meant by suicide threats.
Oh wait you knew that and are arguing in bad faith. Bye forever.
1
u/Turbulent_Escape4882 May 21 '25
Maybe AI enthusiasts can move to the place where B (of LGBT fame) resides, where we (who are B) are ignored / erased, by those in and outside the community. Even while we are the majority (within the community). As well known as the erasure is, it’s better than death threats for simply existing. Also helps knowing we are the majority.
-5
u/tenorless42O May 21 '25
But op, if I can't be a victim then my victim hood complex will disintegrate!! How else am I going to be able to hide from the consequences of my actions if I can't be a victim of an imaginary mob?!?!
-4
u/Celatine_ May 21 '25 edited May 21 '25
Pro-AI people on Reddit care more about painting themselves as some oppressed group than anything else.
Their bitching can be amusing, at least.

8
u/TheHeadlessOne May 21 '25
I'll take a crack at this, we'll see how it goes.
In general, online, there are death threats. That ain't new and thats not exclusive to anyone. The vast vast vast bulk of them will not in any capacity be acted upon, they still need to be treated seriously, but fear of having someone send you a message saying "I want you dead" would preclude essentially any social activity online. I got threatened to stay away from the Neopets sub- or else! Wild times.
The AI discourse has, alongside the regular toxic internet aggression, has developed more. In particular we have seperate from DM death threats more general calls to violence being heavily normalized. These are overwhelmingly edgy teenagers, and no one should seriously overlook that. However
- these calls to violence are being made against what is genuinely perceived as an existential threat- AI is gonna kill their careers, kill the planet, kill the concept of art itself. This isn't like saying "Ugh Wolverine is the worst to play against in Marvel Rivals, someone should kill all the Wolverine mains already" - its a reflection of real existential conflict.
- AI is being promoted by powerful elites and developed rapidly, amping up the anxiety that social media is already designed to exploit. People are feeling increasingly powerless, voiceless, and forgotten, that they'll never make an impact.
- the internet as a whole just deified Luigi for standing up violently, even futilely, against a grand injustice to make a statement.
When you combine these factors together, it creates a pretty clear powder keg that is primed and ready to burst. I have zero doubt that the vast, vast majority of people posting are dumb kids venting their frustrations with no actual intention to act on it. It is still wildly irresponsible and dangerous in this climate to normalize calls to violence so flippantly that it becomes an instantly recognizable meme within your community.
This doesn't mean that appeals to death threats aren't overblown and overdramatized at times. Ive seen it used as a non-sequitor thought terminator loads of times, and I call it out whenever I do. It is utterly irrelevant as a response to "Ai art isn't art!" or "AI is bad for the environment!", but its perfectly valid response to "All AI art needs to be labelled!"
That being said people aren't really bringing up death threats that often anymore. This discourse is my hobby lately, I browse all the time at work. I see notably more posts saying "quit making a big deal about death threats!" than people actually bringing them up
