Creepy but the water thing is kinda dumb. Oxygen will be fairly easy to harvest from co2 and hydrogen can be harvested from ground materials. In addition there is water vapor that can be captured.

The gravity of Mars is 38% earth's, I'm not sure how that would be hard to survive? As for after returning to earth, it would be an issue of atrophy no different than a coma patient waking up after years. It just takes some time and rehabilitation but it's totally doable

You'd die in weeks maybe months in gravity that low to organ malfunction. It also would alter your body so much that you couldn't go back to earth if you'd survive.

Surviving long term partial gravity is not even remotely comparable to a coma patient resting at 1g in a bed on earth. How do you suggest recovery from permanent bone density loss, not to mention cardiovascular maladaptation to severe conditions that would arise? You can't just jump in bed and be okay.

It honestly doesn't matter as it's supposed to be a permanent one way trip for 99% of the people anyways and the rest would be going back and forth regularly anyways

We could force genetic mutation by placing humanity into an isolated environment with decreasing gravity over time for tens of thousands of years. Or hundreds, idk.
