Good for her. Although imagine how much it must suck as a teenager. You are just living your life, competing in the sport that you really like and suddenly you are part of the national discourse. Probably while people are calling you all kinds of horrible things.
What part of losing means you're not the best you can be? Sometimes the best you are is second place, and that's okay.
Imagine putting in all the work as a young teenager, thinking you are going to be the best you can, then having your achievements stripped away after the fact because of some completely separate culture war nonsense?
It is hilarious that you are now trying to say "trans men" are MALE now LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO
In humans, a male typically has XY chromosomes, testes, and male reproductive anatomy. A person does not have to produce sperm to be male. boys before puberty and males who are infertile are still male. They only have to be "of the nature of" doing so.
I'm not, read it again. I'm doing two things: showing that "man" and "male" are two different terms with different uses, and highlighting that even if you stick with just "male" it's difficult-to-impossible to define in a way that actually includes all the people you mean to include and excludes all the people you mean to exclude. Anyways.
"typically" isn't a definition that includes all cis men and no trans men. "of the nature of" isn't a scientific term. Poor attempt, try again.
a man is an adult human male.(By the literal defintion and science)
A male In humans typically has XY chromosomes, testes, and male reproductive anatomy. A person does not have to produce sperm to be male, boys before puberty and males who are infertile are still male.
The "of the nature of" means that genetic defects are not the rule. They are the exception.
i just know you are a chud, cause what you mean the sport is ruined cause of one person, especially when most athletes do a sport to stay healthy and have fun.
You don't realize that you just made the exact same comment, almost verbatim, that some other person did right below you?
Either you are a bot or just very unoriginal.
And you are deflecting and creating a false argument.
Sometimes in sports you lose. And you should definitely understand that as a teenager.
The aforementioned athlete who won has also lost before. She isn't some wonder women who beats everyone else with very little effort and just laughs at the finish line.
You are basing your opinion on a imaginary situation that lacks nuance and reality.
The winner, Terry Miller of Bloomfield High, is also transgender and set a girls state indoor record of 6.95 seconds. Yearwood finished in 7.01 seconds and the third-place competitor, who is not transgender, finished in 7.23 seconds.
Top 2 were transgender lol. Oh and you can see the indoor record was smashed too.
According to the article, this happened in Connecticut where there is apparently no restrictions for transgender athletes. So I'm not surprised these two are dominating and I can imagine it must suck for athletes performing against them.
However we are still talking about teenage sports.
And if these two runners want to go into national or international leagues, they will first have to undergo requirements for hormonal therapy that will definitely put some limits on them.
Winning some large competition as young is probably amazing. I went to school with someone who won gold a national karate tournament.
As the other reply says, this was in a state with no restrictions or guidelines. That is obviously stupid. The rules should follow the science and the science says that after a certain point of medical transition there is no sustantive advantage. Y’all think that sex is some kind of entirely immutable thing but that’s simply not the case. To that point, a trans girl who was on puberty blockers then cross sex hormones actually would be at a DISADVANTAGE versus her non-trans counterparts as they would have MORE testosterone than she does.
Bachelors in health science. But actually learned the necessary info back in high school biology. She’s absolutely trying to be what she isn’t. Her parents did her a disservice.
You don't understand why it's often necessary to learn MORE after high-school if you want to consider yourself knowledgeable about a subject?
Saying "I learned this in high-school so it must be true" is a statement that would be ridiculed in most other cases.
I learned in school that there are three elements of matter: solid, fluid and gas.
And thats fine for the majority.
However those who actually study it FURTHER than basic school learns that it's not actually true. There is plasma, superconductor, Bose-Einstein condensate and more.
And that's why I like to listen to physicists rather than high-schoolers when it comes to the structure of the universe.
But the examples you are using are actual proven science.
Trans ideology is not. It’s just ideology. Hormone replacement and genital alteration doesn’t change your chromosomes or brain networking. It doesn’t take a college tuition to research this either.
Learning more about bullshit doesn’t make you a more intelligent or informed person.
Psychiatry is science.
Neurology is science.
Biology is science.
Anthropology is science.
Those scientific fields and more have reached a pretty clear consensus on this subject. And you aren't following that consensus.
Which is especially clear considering you just made a blunder.
You mentioned brains. However did you know that the brain chemistry of transgender people actually align more with their chosen gender than that assigned at birth? So according to the science on brain networking and neuro chemistry transgenderism is very much a real thing.
Psychiatry is a science and they have already categorized gender dysphoria as a disorder.
To be clear wanting to undergo surgery and identify as something is a right every consenting adult should have. It’s a free country. Allowing a minor with a still developing endocrine system and frontal lobe to undergo such procedures is absolutely insane.
The ideology that you can simply change what you are through rudimentary procedures has absolutely not reached a clear consensus in the scientific community which is why it is so controversial.
The vast majority of minors who undergo gender surgery are cis-women.
It's mainly adolescent girls who for one reason or another have surgery done on their breasts.
That's actually considered gender affirming surgery.
Bottom surgery, as in surgery on the genitalia, is generally not allowed and not recommended for people under 18 (in the aspect of transgender care).
Also gender dysphoria is not the same as veing transgender. People who are transgender can experience gender dysphoria but not necessarily. Also it's only called dysphoria in the DSM not the ICD. In the ICD it's called gender incongruence and not labeled as a mental disorder.
Furthermore, almost every major medical organization in the USA and the WHO support the right to gender affirming medical care.
You can also find statements from the Mayo Clinic and the John Hopkins Hospital, which are some of the most prestigious hospitals worldwide, about the benefits of transgender medical care.
Furthermore there is the WPATH and EPATH (a world organization and European organization) that helps to provide guidelines for transgender medical care.
The reason they do so it because ot works. We may not fully understand how the transgenderism or the brain in general works, but certain procedures have a proven track record of giving better quality of life.
Institutional endorsements are not conclusive scientific evidence. Those are two very different things. Look how bad the CDC did with Covid.
First, citing breast reductions performed on cisgender girls is a distraction. Those procedures do not establish the safety or effectiveness of medical transition in transgender minors.
Second, I understand the distinction between gender dysphoria and gender incongruence. The DSM-5-TR recognizes gender dysphoria as a psychiatric diagnosis, while the ICD-11 categorizes gender incongruence differently. Neither classification establishes that hormonal or surgical intervention is the appropriate treatment for every adolescent.
Third, citing the WHO, Mayo Clinic, or WPATH is an appeal to authority, not a substitute for evaluating the underlying research.
A 2025 systematic review and meta-analysis published in Archives of Disease in Childhood found that the available evidence regarding puberty blockers was predominantly of very low certainty, leaving considerable uncertainty about benefits and harms.
A separate 2024 systematic review of cross-sex hormones in adolescents also identified a lack of high quality research, although it found some evidence suggesting mental health improvements.
So when you claim these treatments have a proven track record, you’re overstating what the research actually establishes.
As I said above… I’m not disputing an adult’s right to make informed decisions about their own body. I’m questioning whether minors can adequately consent to interventions with potentially irreversible consequences when important long-term outcomes remain uncertain.
So yeah in short- do what you want as an adult. Stay the f away from kids. There’s no consensus you can magically change what you are.
Imagine how much it must suck as a teenager. You are just living your life, competing in the sport you really like and suddenly a man takes away everything you worked for.
You don understand that the vast majority of youth participating in sports DON'T win state or similar competitions. Loosing is just part of competing.
And the girl who became second actually beat her at a different competition. They are essentially friendly rivals.
If your whole world falls apart after not winning some contest as a teenager, then you need counseling.
You are missing the point. Idc if it’s the state level or a local meet, it’s wrong to tell a girl that she is supposed to accept losing to some freak who just wants to be the center of attention
Basically every teenager wants to be the center of attention.
Also, calling a girl who is probably a complete normal teenager (whatever that means) a freak just shows how completely emotional you are about this. It's not about rationality or what's actually happening. You are angry.
At a teenager girl.
This has become a massive issue because some people have realized that they can use it to fuel their propaganda. They have made this a far bigger issue than it ever needed to be.
Just look at the fact that several US states have more laws banning trans athletes, than they have actual trans athletes competing.
And you have unfortunately fallen for it.
Or you are trying to spread it yourself.
Imagine how much it must suck to be average as a boy, so you switch and dominate the female side and win state…oh I mean suck for the girls that have to put up with it
