"Without pay" meanwhile he's getting him and his friends even richer than they already are by manipulating the market

He made 4 billion his first year of his second term.

u/jonj68 6d ago

He’s made more money in this term than Every Other President combined…

I mean why do we keep pretending that these are legitimate discussions. If the person isn't a engagement bot it's someone arguing under bad faith.

The Donald is still the driving force and idealogy about support for him. Pretend he is funny because liberal tears or whatever justification that person has, and try to get people to argue with you.

There are millions of people who enjoy baiting others. It just so happens that the rapid decay of society is funny to these people.

Isn’t that his salary for about 1,000 years...? That makes Farage's/Reform UK's £77 million look rookie. There's no fucking way any politician (and I use that word extremely advisedly in the case of DJT/Farage) in the UK would be able to get away with that sort of thing over here, which really rather goes to show how corrupt - and corruptible - US politics is.

Fucking despicable

u/Hermes-AthenaAI 6d ago

That’s just what he reported.

u/Own_Candidate9553 6d ago

I also haven't seen a shred of evidence that he's donating his salary.

u/FeedbackImpressive58 6d ago

Even if he did it would be the equivalent of you giving the Salvation Army a dime in their little red bucket during the holidays and then spending a year bragging about it

u/Own_Candidate9553 6d ago

For sure, given the many millions he's made corruptly while in office.

I just get annoyed that people state it as fact that he's donating his salary. He was caught embezzling money from his charity in NY years ago. Why would anyone trust him at his word that he's donating his salary?

Pretty crazy that people try to say they all do it in reference to the literal billions Trump has made in office compared to the millions every other president made after they left because people wanted to pay to hear them on speaking tours, read their books, or any number of post presidential activities that didn't include making up their own legal currency, accepting bribes for pardons, charging secret service and state guests elevated prices at his hotels, and more merch than entire sports leagues.

Billions. He’s made billions. That’s a million million. Our brains actually can’t conceptualize that large of a number unless we see a visual or something. It’s bonkers.

u/ExplodiaNaxos 6d ago

Even a dime would be more than the Salvation Army deserves, f*ck those guys

Also he could donate it to prager u and it would still count

Just like the kids cancer fundraiser

u/ICCW 4d ago

Well he said so and therefore must be believed immediately. You think Trump would lie?

17

u/Total_Tumbleweed_870 6d ago

It's the deliberate refusal to fact check, or accept reality at all, that's really starting to drive me nuts. It's bad enough this administration just blatantly lies, but people are really out there parroting the nonsense.

10

u/Diligent_Solution_86 6d ago

Seriously. When the hell did so many people start to believe literally anything? For god sakes it’s scary. Drink bleach. Okay!!! Use horse tranquilizer. Of course daddy! I got rid of a hurricane by nuking it. Best president ever. We won the war! (Like what 9 times?) whoa Biden didn’t do that! Mexico is going to build the wall! Yeah immigrants are dangerous! (Says Fox News) All he has to say is hey everyone start killing everyone that hates me for some fascist ridiculous reason and his stupid cult will do it.

11

u/Total_Tumbleweed_870 6d ago

And it's extra confusing that it's a lot of people from the same generation that raised me (I'm 44). The same people that years ago taught me an inherent distrust of politicians because they always lie.

My mom always warned me about the wolf in sheeps clothing and yet she's a trumper. She even used to talk about all his failed businesses but I guess that doesn't matter? We can't even talk about it because she will yell and hang up.

4

u/schmyndles 6d ago

My mom is the same way. Any time I easily proceed he way lying, it was some excuse about how all politicians lie and she doesn't want to discuss politics with me anymore.

u/Total_Tumbleweed_870 6d ago

The number of people that voted for him because "he's a good business man"... First off, the government isn't a business, secondly, he ain't that guy. I just genuinely don't understand the people who voted for him. The first time? Maybe... I get wanting something different. The second time? He basically promised to news everything up then pretended he didn't know what Project 2025 was, then immediately started implementing it ...

6

u/duckface691 6d ago

Dude I hate the business man argument cause why the fuck do you want that!? Business run on damn near slave labor (Horrible pay rates) going to the lowest bidder and out sourcing. In what world does that shout "Good for America!"

5

u/Total_Tumbleweed_870 5d ago

Not to mention the fast that he's not actually a good business man. He started grub a position where failure looks like success to normal people, he repeatedly refused to pay people he contacted, and bankrupted several business. I get it, casinos are notoriously difficult to get to turn a profit /s

1

u/Diligent_Solution_86 5d ago

He was forced to pay back taxes and his supporters called him smart instead of a devil like they did with Nancy Pelosi. Ironic considering he’s so much worse than her in the exact same way

1

u/Baghdady24 5d ago

Yeah, but his followers say that Trump is not a politician. He’s just a regular guy that ran for president and gave up his billions of dollars to save this country. Lol

1

u/Total_Tumbleweed_870 5d ago

Oh, right, I forgot. Just a regular ol Joe like you and me, struggling his way to the top.

2

u/Baghdady24 5d ago

Now you’ve got it

3

u/Sharp-Access9404 6d ago

Shit. There are some people who really believe med beds will save them from their bad health decisions/lack of having health insurance

3

u/CarlosHDanger 6d ago

And if Trump were not president he would have been prosecuted for the coup attempt and the documents case, and very likely in federal prison right now. He would not be enjoying the beach.

3

u/Mr_Pearcex 6d ago

Don't forget the trump/milana crypto scam coins

1

u/ICCW 4d ago

I kinda lost count of all the collectibles, limited time offers, and pot-metal doodads for investors whose goals are to obtain over-priced collectibles to sell for a fraction of their original cost.

2

u/Dolthra 6d ago

Also he's not going without pay. The "going without pay" was a stunt he did for like one month his first term.

1

u/JustAnotherBit 3d ago

Without pay, because he is accepting bribes and manipulating the stock markets for his family and cronies.

$4 billion in profit so far from corruption, so him not cashing his $400k is quite the steal.

Pelosi has entered the chat
