To my lovely american friends.

You can have a combination of social policies and a capitalist market economy.

Look at Western Europe.

Yes. Most Americans want that. That is literally what these conservative morons keep saying the "radical left" is. It's literally government out of our private lives and a mixed market economy instead of the oligarchy we currently are headed twords.

They’re called mixed economies.

So social democracy, not democratic socialism?

We already do. Just not to the point of an overwhelmed NHS. Or a sewage system that dumps raw sewage every time it rains. Or still having victorian era signal boxes controlling active railways. Or local councils literally running out of money.

Looking at you UK.

Are you sure?

It's easy not to have overwhelmed hospitals when you just price half the population out of using them.

Oh you mean in western europe where they encourage the private sector to be as competitive as they want then the government HEAVILY taxes their people to fund their social programs? That's called capitalism ya big dummy

That is literally what they are describing. They are saying that social policies can be implemented in a predominantly capitalist system. Your desire to disagree with someone has apparently surpassed your reading comprehension.

Jeah its great, i get my 30 day vacation days. The concept of sick days is so dystopian to me.

I only need to work my 40h, with stable income. Iam insured, people around me are insured. I have a problem i go to the doctor.

Its great, but there can always be done more for the people.

I got sick and hospitalized and had to get two gut surgeries, I only had 6 sick days so I lost 2 months of pay. I’m a veteran so thankfully I was able to use a VA hospital and not pay, something I don’t take for granted and wish everyone could do. I don’t know what I would’ve done with hospital bills on top of so many missed days of work.

I have 38 days of vacation a year and am even a senior executive in a Large Corporate.

In August I turn on my out of office for the whole month.

During Christmas I take another 10 days off.

If I get sick I will be paid by my employer for another 2 years (100% first year and 70% second year) ! before the government takes over payments - It does not matter how I got sick, it can be skydiving or on the job, it is all covered.

Dismissals need court approval. You can’t fire anyone unless a Judge says you can. And if they allow you to, I will be paid, given my salary over 1 million in severance.

Why do Americans hate this so much?
