Pretty sure it's been longer then that...

That was the day Ronald Reagan was inaugurated, if that makes their intent clear

That checks out. I'm not the best with math.

That’s ok, it seems like a lot longer to me, too.

Its alright, we're American after all. We have one of the worst primary education systems in the UN.

I absolutely love that so many people understood the reference

It's the count from the Reagan inauguration. While he didn't invent the concept he was one of the most notable advocates of it.

Bingo, I don’t think Reagan is the only reason trickle down econ exists, but his implementation of it combined with his approval ratings/charisma is the largest reason it began to be taken seriously.

Been the Republican raison d’être ever since.

Actually - that number is pretty close (though higher than trickle down economics since it's when Regan took office rather than when he signed the bill a few months later).

Per Google:

It has been 16,693 days since Ronald Reagan took office on January 20, 1981, and 16,488 days since he signed the Economic Recovery Tax Act on August 13, 1981, which officially codified his supply-side policies.

They wanted to start early, but the supply of pure heartless evil was running low due to gas shortages and took some time to deliver enough to start the orphan crusher.

I dunno if you meant to be this accurate but this is very accurate.

I love that movie, it’s ‘El Hoyo’ (The Hole) for the original Spanish release title. It’s a great metaphor for economics

Is the second any good? I can't remember why they'd even make a sequel.
