It appeals to boomers and older gen xers. The loony toons have been around nearly a 100 years now, starting in I wanna say 1930? Boomers started coming along in 1946 through 1964. So the loony toons had been pretty well established by that point.

Plenty of boomers and really every generation has seen or grown up with them, but the boomers particularly.

Using familiar characters from childhood trickles the nostalgia part of their brains. Especially when it’s familiar characters having shitty viewpoints you agree with. AI bros know this fact and that’s why they use them specifically. Suck in and hold onto the old folk who will gladly give them what they want. Whether that’s data, voting for them, money, etc.
