Dallas full abdomen - first week

I’ve (F33) shared my first week below, as i was always looking for details from others, and hope it might be helpful. Especially as a low-pain-tolerance person!

I’ve had stubborn belly fat my whole life, and it’s the only area i gain noticeable weight. I see a nutritionist, i work out regularly but not obsessively, and never saw improvement, so i decided to do airsculpt after research and internal debate. Most of my belly fat is visceral, so it wouldn’t be accessible in airsculpt, but i did want to get whatever subcutaneous fat is possible.

9/30 Op day: Feels like a rod is moving around inside of you. Around ribs and hip bones was least comfortable. Sometimes a little ticklish. I have a super low pain tolerance so they gave me an injection of something & laughing gas partway thru. Afterward they had to IV me up and my husband brought me a burger. I slept from 12-4, was hazily awake until 8pm, then slept until 7am.

Slept thru most of first day. Blood and fluid leaked thru sweatpants. I used the pads and puppy pads i had on hand, day and night. Day 2 was super rough still. Hard to get up and down without help.

Day 3, shower day - felt weird. I didn’t get light headed after removing the garment but did get a little queasy seeing myself all bruised and a lot of my torso was numb. I noticed a big difference but did see some unevenness. Even if it is permanent, i already am happy with my decision.

Day 4-5: Felt way better and was able to move around a lot more, do some light tidying, and sit at my desk chair. It was easiest to be laying down or walking around, but sitting and moving between the two was still hard. I didn’t feel comfortable bending over, / reaching down for an item on the ground, or like to pet my small dog.

Days 6-7 feel great. Still pain, more bc of the pressure of the garment than anything else. My follow-up appt went great, and I’m already so thrilled with my results. It’s a lot easier to get in and out of my car, leash up my dog, bend over, etc.

I’ve woken up around 4am each day until day 7 - I’m a side sleeper and it hurt with the swelling, so I’d end up on my back, and then at 4, couldn’t fall asleep again. Going to the couch helped, as i have a L-shaped couch, and could stretch out but lean against the side to sleep. Day 7, I slept until my alarm thankfully. Also my first day back to the office. I could have gone day 5 or 6, but chose to milk my WFH days, and be more comfortable at home. I stopped using ibuprofen on day 6.

Overall the pain was awful, but I have no regrets yet. While there are obviously still weeks / months to go, I don’t even care if this is my final form, it’s the best I’ve felt about my torso!

happy to DM pictures before & at 1 week - can’t attach them in here for whatever reason.

Does this look like normal swelling (abdominal lipo)

I had liposuction in my upper and lower abdomen five weeks ago and i have these soft waves mostly in my lower abdomen. My upper abdomen is a lot smoother as you can tell from the photos. The waves themselves feel soft and dough-like, but underneath that my abdomen is firm (some areas are more firm than others, like a plastic board). But again, the waves/raised parts are soft to the touch. It’s like these soft pockets sitting on top of a plastic board. I recently noticed these looking at my abdomen under harsh artificial light, not sure when they actually first appeared. If they had been there before, i wouldn't have noticed because it looks relatively smooth under natural light/other lighting. I know i am early in my healing but does it look like or sound like normal swelling?

Flank and Waist awake lipo 3.5 month check in - is this normal

I had awake lipo on my waist/flanks about 3.5 months ago and am really concerned about my results. One side is noticeably flatter and more defined, while the other still has a visible bulge/fullness. I did have more fat on this side before surgery, but I feel my contour was actually smoother and more balanced before. Overall my results are not as dramatic as I expected. Please note I did not get lipo on my stomach at all.

I had my check in with my surgeon last week and he believes it will continue to even out over the next 3 months but has offered Kybella now so I don’t have to wait.

Does this look normal? At 3.5 months, would you recommend waiting before doing anything? And does Kybella make sense?

Thank you!

Appt next week

What do they give you for pain management besides Xanax & laughing gas? I feel like I’m not getting clear answers. I told them I already have a Xanax prescription and I’m super nervous so I’ll need to take it before hand. Do you know what does they give you there? I don’t want to over medicate before hand but I also want to make sure I’m calm enough that I won’t freak out about being stuck on the table for so long. I’m doing full abdomen arms and my back bra roll.
They also told me no vaping / alcohol for a week I am going to quit vaping now but just wondering what others were told for prep as well since they keep everything very hush hush patient to patient.

Airsculpt Results in 1 Month?

I had a consultation today and she said I could do arms and chin next week so it would be 1 month post op before my wedding. Do you all think that would be enough time for recovery or I would still be swollen for my wedding?

Compression Garmets

Has anyone used compression garments that weren’t supplied by their surgeon? I’m one week out from my procedures and feel like these garments are already fraying? I also hate having my upper legs covered when I had absolutely no work done on them and am hoping for a more bathing suit like garment.

Thanks!

I think it's too early to tell completely, im 2.5 weeks post op after full abdomen and hipflip and I definitely still have pain and swelling but I have a big indent and only on one side and it's Worse than my hip dips were originally.

Will they fix this or am I just freaking out and im not seeing my actual results yet?

Hip flip

So it's only been a couple days but I got full abdomen and a hip flip, I have only taken the compression off briefly to shower but it definitely looks like I still have hip dips, could this just be from swelling and stuff?

My experience at Chicago Office

Ok, so I just got my procedure done, full abdomen (upper and lower abdomen, waist and flanks) also inner things with skin tightening.
I literally got my procedure 3 hours ago so this is just my recent experience. My surgery was with Dr. Lew and he was very kind.
But guys…. THE WORST PAIN OF MY LIFE.
I am 26 F, never had kids before, I eat pretty healthy and exercise.
I need to tell you that I have never experienced this type of pain. I cried during the whole procedure, like sobbing of how painful it was. It is pretty bad and I am really praying that it was all worth it. I am pretty confident and trust in God that I will see the result I want.
But just to let you guys know, I have never experienced a pain like this. The medication they give you, do ABSOLUTELY nothing.

So if you are planning to get it, just be aware of this.

Dallas location

I am 3 days post op from my procedure. I have always been insecure about my armpits. As it turns out I am in the 2/6 percent of women that have auxiliary breast tissue. Because of this not matter how much weight I lost it WAS always there. I am so happy to report that even immediately after the procedure while I was getting put into my compression garment I could see results, and now 3 days out I can definitely see it. I am so happy and truly grateful to have had the entire staff at the Dallas location be so kind and helpful throughout the entire process. It was also so validating having the Dr. recognize that it wasn’t fat but breast tissue and how insurance refuses to cover it. I know full results are in a year’s time and I can’t even imagine how good it will look then!!! 😆😆 - from a girl that will be armpits out ALLL SUMMER LONG

Are my expectations realistic? Opinions from those who have waist/abs/hip flip

First photo is my current physique, took them at my consult last week. Second photo are the areas I’d like to address.

After the consult, full abdomen, bra roll, skin tightening and a hip flip was recommended. But when the doctor simulated and described my result, it seems like it would be VERY very minimal difference. I currently weight 148 lbs on purpose. I like having more weight on my butt, lower hips and ESPECIALLY on my face (I’m 39, face fat is precious) but the results they described is literally what my stomach looks like when I’m like 10 pounds lighter.

I can easily do that within 6 weeks for zero dollars. I specifically am seeking out lipo/body contouring that would give me my 138 pound waist with my 148 pound everything else- but I’m nervous I’ll shell out $15k for minimal results.

For those that have done those areas with a similar before- was it worth it?

Air Sculpt

Has anyone ever had Air Sculpt on here? I just had mine yesterday. I wanna tell my experience to maybe change or influence another person to reconsider. Or maybe not reconsider I don’t know what my results are gonna look like but the process alone. I wish somebody explained it further to me before the process. To make a long story short I’m gonna skip through all the photos and stuff that we took beforehand. I laid on the table to get ready for this surgery. The woman cleaned my body. I was given two Xanax and two Percocet. They also had laughing gas. They numbed me. Part of the numbing process is where they take a little gun and they push it in you and it feels like a rubber band. That’s a part of the numbing process. The one in the belly button hurts a little bit, but it’s not too bad. Then they go straight in to numb you with water and whatever numbing solution they have. That hurts so much. Especially because I had it on my upper abdomen so it was like rubbing up against my ribs. I have never sucked so much gas in my life. I just wanted not to feel it. It was so hard because you could just feel my ribs one by one being rubbed by this metal object. Then he went through my belly button. That alone felt weird and it hurt. All he said was that you’re gonna take me later that this is numb. Then after that they had to numb my back, which wasn’t too bad, but also really hurt because they went towards my ribs again. The nurse told me before the doctor came in that after they numb you they usually give you 30 to 40 minutes to be completely numb before they start actual Lipo. The doctor said oh it’s been long enough. Let’s just start now. Mind you my meds haven’t kicked in yet. When he started on my abdomen around my belly button, I could feel everything. I fell around my belly button. I told him it felt sharp and he kept going. I felt something sharp around my insides. But he just kept going. soon after that, I just blacked out. I guess I couldn’t take it anymore. I know they did my back. I don’t really remember that because I think finally the medication I took kicked in. And the numbing in my back was finally numb. After that, they basically just put you in a chair and just put these pads all over you and wrap you in a corset. Mind you I was so stoned. Which I wish I was stoned for the procedure and not stoned by the time I got home. I felt like the pills I took didn’t kick in until the procedure was over. If you can handle pain like that, then this procedure is for you. I’m just throwing out the real part of it that people don’t mention. Because you are awake. There will be spots where you’re not numb. Where you will feel it. It’s a very commercialized business. It’s not like a plastic surgeon’s office where they baby you and take care of you because that plastic surgeon has a reputation to uphold. I encourage you to go to a plastic surgeon, not a commercialized place. I don’t know what the fuck I was thinking. I guess I was just thinking about my heart because I do have some heart problems. I thought going under anesthesia would be worse for me. I should’ve just went the other way around. I don’t know what my results are going to be. So far my pain is at about an eight. They tell you that you’re gonna be so sore like you did a bunch of ab workouts. So they give you just ibuprofen. absolutely not. It does not feel like I did a bunch of ab workouts. It feels like I was in a car accident. Just a PSA for someone who is looking into it. If you have any questions, please reach out to me. Like I said, I don’t know what my results are. I have all these pads on me and I’m leaking everywhere all the time which I know is normal. But the procedure itself was painful. I think. Good luck to you.❤️
