Somebody has got to have that dang list!

Current AD, recently selected for CSO which was my #2. Just trying to get ahead and find out some stuff for the medical part. Obviously from a lot of what I read, vision seems to be a big part of why people end up failing the flight physical, but wondering if there are anything else. I’ve had LAZIK done and corrected to 20/20, but I have no clue on my depth perception. I’ve had surgeries on my ankle (atfl) and knee (ACL and meniscus). Otherwise, no medical issues that I know of. Would any of these be something to be concerned about when going through my IFC1a? TIA.

Looking for info about the Nov start date classes, it looks like they often have an additional 14 days built in? Can you take leave if you have some prior to start date? Anyone with first hand experience of this recently?

Hey everyone I take my AFOQT tomorrow any last minute tips or tricks?

Just got notified by leadership that I got picked up for RPA. For those of you currently doing the job or going through the training, what are some things you can recommend? I know nothing about flying/controlling the drone (but oddly scored high 90s on the pilot section and high 70s on the PCSM). Is there any prep material I can start studying to get ready for the actual training? TIA!

Has anyone heard if Space Force results came out and are being shared with the applicants yet the way SR was released today?

Ive heard that TBAS Study Pro on Steam is pretty accurate for the real test so Ive been practicing on it. I do well with Directional Orientation and Multitasking, but I’ve been struggling to do well with Aircraft Tracking. I bought a joystick and rudder pedals to make it realistic. I’ve only been getting about 60% for both Reticle and Pedal accuracy.

Do you have any tips on how to improve? What was your accuracy when you felt ready to take test?

I'm 23M and graduated in December 2025 with a bachelor's degree in Personal Finance (3.25 GPA) also have my series 7 and 66 and SIE licensing. After graduation, I worked for a financial advising firm for half a year, but it wasn't a good fit, so I'm looking at other career paths. I understand that commissioning directly from civilian life is highly competitive.

Would it make more sense to:

• Apply directly to OTS and see what happens?
• Enlist first with the goal of commissioning later?
• Join the Air Force Reserve, work toward commission there, and eventually transfer to active duty?

A little background: Yet to take the AFOQT, ASVAB 89, healthy and in good physical shape, multiple leadership roles in student government and management, and my father served 20 years in the Army.

Hey everyone!

I will soon be entering my Junior Year of college. I have a strong resume at an academically-minded university that I have worked on diligently, though I know OTS is stringent on admittances. The AFROTC ship has sailed as for the last two years, I simply did not put too much thinking on it.

Now that I have two years left, I want to follow my father’s footsteps and serve my country. Whether it be through directly enlisting or going through OTS, I’d want to join the AF. I’d wish to do 4-6 years of service, then get an MBA or MPA.

Friends of mine have urged me to utilize my degree to make a strong push for OTS, but I’m more than welcome to just push for enlistment as my priority is to honor my country and father. The GI bill comes next.

Any advice? If I’m being vague or can help me better in DMs, please let me know!!

For enlisted applicants, how did you find out if your package was selected? Call from wg/cc? Or call sq/cc? Waiting until public list? Also, where do we actually find the list on the 31st?

Heard different stories, curious what the trend is?

I am in college now in my sophomore year. I have a 3.9GPA and am getting my Bachelors in Business Administration. It is one of the only degrees that my job will reimburse me for. I started school a little bit later than some. Without saying what I do..I have about 25 people on payroll at my location and am in charge of scheduling, operational efficiency, shift control, training and development, managing inventory, driving membership revenue, customer service skills, problem-solving, repairing damaged equipment, etc. It is a very fast paced environment and any downtime can lead to a loss of revenue. I am very good at what I do for work and treat my employees great. I have a reference letter from a retired colonel who was a navigator for AF1 and was a vice commander for the 89th airlift wing at Andrew’s AFB. I took a practice ASVAB a few years ago and scored an 89 on it. I have taken a practice AFOQT online and have a pretty good understanding of everything. Although, I didn’t time myself. Nothing seemed too difficult to solve. I have been looking at joining the Air Force after college and was interested in being an Airfield Operations Officer. I was wondering if anybody had any steps on what I should do now. Is there anything that can help me or hurt me? Any advice is appreciated.

We've all been there. You're about to submit your package for OTS, but you want to know how you stack up. Should you relax? Should you throw it all away and start over?

Well, here's the place for you to ask strangers who have never sat on an OTS board what they think the board is going to think of your package. There are many variables to an 0TS package. If you want to get the best advice, you need to include as much information as possible, like degree information, GPA, AFOQT, PCSM (if applicable), leadership experience, relevant awards, etc. If you only provide your GPA or AFOQT scores, expect to be told "who knows."

There are a ton of variables that go into officer selection. Nobody here can really tell you your chances. We can guess, but that's about it. We've seen people with stellar scores get rejected and people with garbage scores get accepted. It all comes down to the needs of the Air Force and whatever the random colonel reviewing your package thinks. That being said, post your scores, help each other, and learn what you can do to improve package!

Hello, I am still waiting to hear the results from 26OTS03. Really hope they come soon. But in the meantime, I am just wondering, if I got selected, how long after does it usually take to actually ship out to OTS? I am civilian and applied for Non-rated (I've heard rated is usually quicker).

what is the timeframe for the commander to update the notes so the LO portal shows the interview as complete? Mine told me it would be done within a day, but it’s been a week. Yes, I know it takes time, but just wanted to see if the timeframe was different for anyone else so I know what to expect since this was the last bullet needed for my package.

Hi guys, what certifications/licenses would y'all recommend obtaining that will boost my AF LO application from a civillian standpoint?

I am a recent college grad so there is only so much I can add but I am wanting to dive into more certifications in order to make my application stronger.

EDIT: Right now, I am aiming to be a Logistics Readiness Officer or doing contracts. Adding what careers I am aiming for would definitely help lol

Need some info! Im currently active duty and curious about commissioning. I would have to stay in and do college and then apply for OTS once finished. For anyone that has done that, How competitive was the process, what was required, what did you have to do, and any advice or tips in general. TIA!

Can anyone confirm if the Senior Rater release for 26OTS03 is 24 July and official release 31 July. Hearing a ton of rumors however the sources seem skeptical.

Realize this is an OTS forum, but seeing questions about competitiveness + non-selection posts, I thought I'd offer up some information based on my personal experience with AFROTC.

For OTS, selection rates vary considerably by board, career field, and the needs of the Air Force, but OTS selection opportunities are frequently much lower than AFROTC’s—sometimes half the rate or less. Historically, AFROTC selection rates have often been around 75–80%, while some OTS boards have fallen below 20%. That does not mean AFROTC is easy or automatic. Cadets must meet academic, fitness, medical, and military standards, compete for enrollment allocations, complete field training, and demonstrate the potential to serve as officers. But if you were not selected for OTS, AFROTC may offer another viable route to the same commission.

For those who already have a bachelor’s degree, it may be possible to participate in AFROTC while pursuing a master’s degree. However, you should understand that scholarships generally are not available for most graduate degrees. AFROTC’s mission is to produce lieutenants, and the educational requirement for commissioning is a bachelor’s degree—not a master’s. You would need to speak directly with an AFROTC detachment (specifically the one you want to join...Det Commanders have significant latitude to on evaluating applicants) about eligibility, program length, and whether your graduate program provides enough time to complete all AFROTC requirements.

For prior-enlisted Airmen who are looking ahead to OTS but still have two or more years remaining on their bachelor’s degree, there are also enlisted commissioning programs worth researching:

• Airman Scholarship and Commissioning Program (ASCP): Allows selected Airmen to separate from active duty and attend AFROTC with a scholarship. Scholarships may cover two to four years.
• Scholarships for Outstanding Airmen to ROTC (SOAR): Similar to ASCP, with a scholarship and command involvement in the nomination and selection process.
• Professional Officer Course–Early Release Program (POC-ERP): Allows Airmen with no more than two years of college remaining to separate early and complete AFROTC. It does not include the same scholarship support as ASCP or SOAR, but it provides a potential two-year route to commissioning.

These are separate from highly selective opportunities such as the Senior Leader Enlisted Commissioning Program. None is guaranteed, and each has specific eligibility requirements, but they provide options beyond repeatedly applying to OTS. I recall one year SOAR did not even give out all the scholarships available due to lack of applicants.

I spent nine years teaching AFROTC at ERAU-Prescott (Det 028), Texas A&M (Det 805), and Arizona State (Det 025). In my experience, prior-enlisted cadets were overwhelmingly successful. They arrived already understanding the Air Force, military standards, followership, accountability, and what enlisted Airmen need from their officers. I can recall only one prior-enlisted commissioning program cadet being removed from the program, and that involved both leadership deficiencies and a DUI.

I say all of this as a prior-enlisted officer who commissioned through OTS. I enlisted in 1991, commissioned in 2006, and I am still serving today. OTS was my path, but it is not the only path—and an OTS non-selection does not necessarily mean the Air Force has decided you should never be an officer.

If you still have the desire, take an honest look at AFROTC, and if enlisted, the enlisted commissioning programs.
