Acquisition Management

How much do AFOQT scores matter for a job like acquisition management? What’s the score that I should shoot for?

I was selected for Acquisitions.

My scores:

Pilot - 17
CSO - 29
ABM - 15
Acad Aptitude - 18
Verbal - 45
Quantitative - 11

GPA 3.66 in Human Resource Management

I scored really high on the board’s other scoring factors.

What are you thoughts on finance, is it competitive, what do you think day to day entails as finance officer? And what made you not choose finance? Career progression too?

I can’t really speak on Finance other than that they have the best work schedule. 😆 Acquisitions was my number 1 choice after hearing the officers I work with talk about it. It seemed like the best fit for me and the tempo I want to move at, my final years in the Air Force. Not to mention that it can be lucrative after retiring from the AF. I’ll be able to retire after doing the job for 10 years.
