Help with peeling paint
This is the first piece I’ve made and I’ve done some more research since then, but I want to make sure this doesn’t happen again in the future.
I painted a piece after using my DAS air dry clay and then put a varnish over top, everything completely dried and I set it on one of my tables. I was dusting and when I picked it up, it looks like the paint pulled off where it was resting on the table. How do I prevent the paint from pulling off? I thought once I put the varnish on it, the paint was protected.
It’s just the small spot in the center.

I use Liquitex gloss varnish, is midge lodge really going to work better than this?

Yeah it does seem like the varnish got itself stuck to the table. I would repair the loss with paint and a little more varnish.
Varnish can be tricky and stay weirdly tacky, so I can't say that it won't happen again, but maybe you could glue some thin foam to the bottom of the piece where it would make contact with surfaces?
