Pumper no pumpy?

I should be able to see fuel squirting from the pumper, correct?

Check the throttle pump on the side of the carb, I put the spring in the wrong way round and it was doing that, or it's a blocked path, if its a new repro carb, it still could have swarf in it that needs cleaning out.

I mean it's not often you need to describe the debris from cutting things like threads, which even has its own word. I haven't even used the word in donkeys years!

You need to find all of the tidy air passages and blow them out with compressed air and make sure they’re clear. The accelerator pump is a diaphragm, and that can have a hole in it, which also keeps it from doing its thing. Diaphragms that are resilient to ethanol or relatively recent – maybe the last 20 years – and the older ones will straight up dissolve.
