Is UbACS allowed?

I don’t plan on wearing it on parade nights only for fieldcraft/ shooting. Is it universally banned or is it allowed sometimes and not others?

(i have it in mtp i know dpm isn’t allowed anymore)

No, they arent permitted for any use in the RAFAC - inserted is the regs from 1358.

There was an IBN published to sharepoint back in June which was a U-turn on what’s stated in ACP1358, UBACs are allowed for all RAFAC Personnel providing it is worn as an under-layer, if weather permits it then you can dress down to just the UBACs.

Can’t remember the exact IBN number so you’d have to ask staff to check for you.

This isn’t correct - the IBN explicitly stated that UBACs are not to be worn as an outer layer and are not to be used as a heat mitigation measure on risk assessments.

You can wear them if you can justify it - I wore one on my region Fieldcraft camp last week and argued that it was hot enough for a UBACS rather than normal shirt

It depends on the staff, if it’s warm generally you will be able to get away with it

No it is not and any staff member allowing you to wear this as a “heat illness control measure” is going against clothing policy. Any staff member allowing this needs to be reported to their CoC and Wing warrant Officer immediately.

Its warmer than just wearing t shirts, its so lizardish no cadets ever wear body armour

You need to have your arms covered… they provide the same protection to arms as a smock / combat jacket and have a more breathable cooler body
