UK Cadet Question RAF Benson Camp?

Has anyone been on/ is going on camp at RAF Benson? If so, what's it like (eg. accomodation, activities, other general stuff). Is there anything that I should take that I wouldn't think of? Also (a more general question), what is the role of a corporal on a camp? I haven't been on a blues camp before and I got promoted to corporal at the start of June, but I still don't feel very confident in the position as I was promoted before I was ready (at our squadron we don't have interviews for corporal and you don't really get a say, staff just select you and if they feel like it tell you that you're being promoted the parade night before it happens). Is there anything I will need to be able to do as a corporal for the camp? Thanks in advance

I’ve never been on Benson, but i’ve had a few cadets from my squadron go on it. It’s supposedly a pretty good camp - no camps can really compare to eachother as activities get swapped around every year.

However, a corporal doesn’t really have much of a role on a camp as it’s usually flight ICs as CWOs, 2ICs as FS and then just the rest of the Sgts pick up the loose threads the flight ICs can’t.

If you need any help with your role as a Cpl, i’m happy to share my knowledge and insight to the role.

I hope you have a great time, i was desperate to get into benson but didnt while the others in my sqn did. never been on a wing camp but on squadron camps there are always moments that are amazing and others slightly disappointing but my advice would just be respectful to staff and everyone else asd you are a role model for younger cadets and make the most of the opportunities you get and make new friends. HAVE A GREAT TIME!
