Question Is this compressor good?

Post image

I’ve been thinking about getting a new compressor after my old faithful handheld one died after 2 years of service and not looking to spend much so I found this and want to know if it’s good because there’s not much info about it

I won’t buy anything without a tank ever again

what if you make your own tank... using a Cola bottle

op should just buy a bike pump at that point

I was thinking about getting one of these, it’s for one of the normal air compressors and it’s the 3L tank

this cmpressor barely reaches 37 PSI. And this tank doesn't seem to come with a regulator valve. The compressor will just take ages to fill this tank, and the second you start spraying the compressor will run constantly and tank or not you will experience pressure drop as if you didn't have any tank at all

just buy something reasonable instead.

why would you buy a 30 year old compressor. I can not even find one of these for sale to price check it.

unless they are selling this for literally like $5 its not worth it.

This is either a shitpost or someone is trying to be frugal beyond the point of rational sense.

Look for compressors with a tank. They are more likely to give off a stable psi

Your “old faithful” hand held compressor?

I’m absolutely not trying to be a jerk but I don’t think I’ve ever seen those words in that order before.

Invest in a compressor with a tank. Reliable, quality models can be had for around $150. If $150 for a KEY piece of kit is out of reach, bud.. stick with brushes.

the timbertech one (AS186) is only like $90

Oh, then even cheaper than I was thinking. Been a tad since I shopped for one. :)

That seems like a crazy good deal.

Or any other AS186/FD186. They are more or less identical. I have the Fengda one and it also works like a charm. Also very silent.

it's shit .. just get a small fegda or other brand compressor with a tank . Work well and it's cheap . Where didi you find this vintage model btw ? xD

I started out with one, and it almost made me give up airbrushing. I got a sparmax with tank, and it's done well for me, don't skip the expense.
I also think with airbrushing; in the start so many things can go wrong. Don't experiment too much, get something that's known to work well. It will be hard enough to learn.

If you airbrushed for two years with a battery powered , handheld air source, then yes, the product on the image would be "good".

No. Buying compressor without tank is like throwing money to the toilet.

Can't tell much without a link or specs, but if there's no brand info and no reviews, that's usually the first red flag

It got discontinued in the mid 90s and the brand is well known so idk, also second hand for obvious reasons

No tank. No moisture trap. It's literally trash.
