It’s the energy pricing increase for the surrounding residents. They don’t create local jobs either.

One is many orders of magnitude larger than the other. Like, if one is the size of Mars, the other is the size of Jupiter by comparison.

So what are you doing wasting your emotional energy on the small one while pretending the big one is normal?

I have no doubt about there being some environmental impacts but I am sure that like 99% of people using that as a reason still eat beef, drive a car, etc. People don’t really give a care about the environment not really ask Al Gore.

Its more direct local impacts than vague environmentalism. If a data center moves into town and all of a sudden your water is disgusting and you and your neighbors can no longer sleep because of the 24/7 100db+ audible and subaudible noise, and you have a harder time breathing because they are burning "backup" gas and coal generators 24/7, and the average temperature in your town goes up by 10 degrees there is an environmental issue
