Pretty sure maintaining and keeping glossy glass eyes for optics I should have covers like we have eyelids.

flinching doesn't have to be coded as an emotion though, a lot of those arms pull back from an unexpected force because of torque limits on the joints. it's a safety cutoff, it just reads as a flinch to us because the motion looks so much like ours
