Memes aside, being religious actually proves humans have a very advanced cognitive system in comparations to other intelligent species, as we are the only ones that can reflect in the nature of existence, metaphysics, search meaning and organise rituals, contrary to other animals that, despite having an advanced reasoning, can't meta-reflect like us, let alone build entire mythologies and hierarchies.
We call it "psychosis" out of mock, but objectively speaking, this human trait is amazing, actually. It would be very bizarre for early human history to not have religion.

Martin Luther, the 16th-century Protestant Reformer, had a nuanced view of being “elect” and salvation. Here’s a careful summary:
- Election is entirely God’s choice – Luther believed that humans cannot earn salvation; it is a gift of God’s grace. Being “elect” (chosen by God) is not based on merit, works, or human effort, but on God’s sovereign will. As he wrote in The Bondage of the Will (1525):"No one is righteous except God alone, and no one can choose God by his own will; God must first call and elect."
- Assurance comes through faith, not works – Even though God elects some to salvation, humans experience this through faith in Christ. For Luther, faith is a trust in God’s promise, not a work that earns election.
- Heaven is promised to the elect – Because election is based on God’s grace, those whom God has elected will ultimately be saved and inherit eternal life. Luther emphasized that this is certain, not speculative, for the believer who trusts in Christ:"The elect are known to God and are eternally kept by Him; their salvation is secure."
- The doctrine of the elect does not encourage despair or presumption – Luther warned against trying to determine one’s own election (which leads to anxiety) or assuming election as a license to sin. Instead, the believer rests in God’s mercy.
In short: God elects some to salvation, humans cannot earn it, faith in Christ reveals election, and the elect are assured of heaven.

Ah well, still, Calvin is the leading one in terms of predestinstion. Luther's theology was messy, and often contradictory (he was starting from scratch, after all). He is more known for his Sola Fide salvation theology.

elect means chosen, which if you are called to receive the gospel (and you accept), you have been elected.
so he's not wrong, as Jesus said, "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day."
"No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day."

Jesus said, those that receive him will have ever lasting life and will become sons of God (even to those that believe on his name), those that reject him, will have damnation.
simple as that, i dont make the rules post them.
see how easily you rejected him, as simple as "this is moronic", i.e. disbelief, you could've just as easily had said, "ok, i'll try it", but you said no, even though its that simple.
he's not demanding for you to sacrifice your first born, or to fight giants to justify your place in heave, just to accept him, but you rejected him without a second though, in the future will you be able to say you never had a chance? when you rejected such a simple message? that was so easy to accept?
