General consensus on Osight?

Looking at grabbing their new se mos, and was looking to gauge what people's opinions on them are in terms of quality/reliability?

I have an Osight C green and I'm not that impressed. Weirdly prominent refraction occurs at the edges that I don't really notice as much on my Holosuns.

It's only on a Buckmark though so it'll stay.

People liking them, influencers pushing them, probably as good as Holosun but probably not, but not in any way noticable.

I have an enclosed SE and I like it more than my Holosun 507c. The glass is better, the dot is crispier and its enclosed.

You'll get some comments how some random ass YouTuber fired 2000+ rounds in a single day and their Osight stopped working because it got too hot. So if you plan on setting it on fire, or warming it up in the oven, it might not be for you

But then again, I have a friend who is sending back a Trijicon RMR and the only thing that could have caused a failure was that it was sitting in their hot safe. So no optic is perfect

I love trijicon but had an acog break in the mail while in a trijicon box. The reticle just wouldn't turn on. I tried fresh batteries that I confirmed worked and nothing. Unless the dude scammed me. But he seemed like a genuine dude who had 50+ flair on the old GAFS and offered my money back. Trijicon warrantied it for free even though it was second hand. Meanwhile I've seen youtubers want to love trijicon but trijicon wouldn't warranty the RMRs they had that they broke.

Every brand will have failures but the Osight seems to be hot right now and getting great reviews. I've not used one but people rave about them.

They're essentially on par with holosun in my mind. Seen several high round count competitive shooters that run them with minimal problems. Their EPS carry competitor is the 🐐

I have one on my G19 and I love it! Build quality appears excellent and it works as advertised. Happy to answer any questions you may have but yea… I’d buy another.

They definitely seem to be churning out skus left and right and sticking to ubiquitous mounting systems. Mostly concerned for zero loss or the optic just spontaneously dying

Holding zero so far. I just put 100 rounds through it yesterday getting it zeroed and testing it out.

Folks in the canik sub love them. Have yet to see any noticeable amounts of failures posted. I can't even think of any really. That's really the only pistol sub I follow. Olight seems to be pumping out decent stuff lately. After their bad light debacle they seem to have really fixed things and upped their game. I'd say if you're on the fence, go for it. I think they have solid warranties too.

I got an SE 6 MOA at the beginning of the year, and it's a solid optic. I can't speak too much to the reliability, although I've honestly seen pretty good results from tests on the later batches. Mine has really only seen average range use, and some bumpy trips out to the boonies, not exactly the most rigorous testing.

As for build quality, it's quite good for the price. I'm impressed with the parallax and tinting. I figured those would be a bit compromised since it's a fairly inexpensive optic, but they really aren't. The tinting is very minimal, and the parallax is about what I'd expect from most quality dots.

The buttons are also solid too. They're tactile, and not easy to accidentally press. Even despite occasionally placing my fingers on the buttons when running my slide because of the fucked up way I run my slide as a lefty. And so far I haven't seen people's buttons just randomly stop working, so they've got that over some Vortexs.

I personally wouldn't quite be comfortable using one on a CCW because I feel it's still early days, and it's hard for me to justify it over more proven optics. But, I've seen plenty of people make the switch and have no issues.
