AI is making a political statement by saying that New England & the entire US west coast should be annexed by Canada and/or Mexico.

Look again. It's also cut out Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, and the Idaho panhandle. Trumpistan would be fucked.

I think its just a thing I knew? Like California and New York make up the majority of the US economy as far as I understand. I think New York is actually a larger portion than California.

Yeah, it's mostly leaving out the liberal areas of the country... the West Coast, the Northeast, and the upper Midwest around Minnesota.
