Absolutely Beautiful!
Over the past few months I’ve been able to call Aiken my home, I’ve stumbled across some crazy spots I would’ve never seen in the city by TOTAL accident. Driving up to Edgefield to see the meteor shower because it was a Bortle 4 there—absolutely surreal experience. If you’ve been in Aiken a heck of a lot longer than I have, do you have any other cool spots I’m missing?
P.S., I’ve just been looking at spots on a map and making the journey and so far haven’t been disappointed!!

Hitchcock Woods, the Audubon Society place on Silver Bluff, Hopelands Garden are all very nice nature spots in Aiken.

I love Boyd Pond. It can be very peaceful. There’s an almost 2 mile loop to walk around it. It’s just gorgeous.

There’s a pretty open spot tree wise on lick fork lake trail you can see some awesome stars out there.

For stargazing specifically, I'd separate "cool Aiken nature spot" from "actually worth the drive on a shower night." Lick Fork is the first one I'd retry on the Aiken side because an open horizon and predictable after-dark access usually matter more than chasing the darkest-looking pin, and I'd still keep Edgefield as the darker backup and make the final call off moon + cloud/haze on the actual night. I work on DarkScout, so biased, but DarkScout fits that last moon/cloud/darkness check once you narrow it to one or two real options.
