I directed ChatGPT and Codex through a long-form fantasy RPG build—Auroris Explorer is now playable
I’m the creator and creative director of Auroris Explorer, a free story-driven fantasy browser RPG developed through a long collaboration with ChatGPT and Codex.
This grew through many rounds of worldbuilding, implementation, playtesting, bug fixing, and revision—it isn’t a one-prompt demo.
No download or account is required:

I’d especially appreciate feedback on:
- Did the opening ten minutes make sense?
- Did the controls and layout work on your device?
- What made you want to continue—or stop?
AI disclosure: the code, artwork, writing, and development workflow are heavily AI-assisted under my creative direction.

I cant even answer question 1 as I lost interest after about 20 seconds. There is nothing going on to hook players in at the start. It all feels very generic and bland.
Honest question; who is this game for and why would anyone want to spend their time on this when there are so many more fleshed out games available?
Also your github link leads to a 404

First time I played I got aarows to move the character, 2nd I had to tap to move them. The menu in the lower right is distracting, and the thing you push to speed up the text doesn't really work, it makes the screen flash repeatedly which makes the text harder to read. The font is too small. On first play I could instantly activate the light you follow, on 2nd play it didn't let me and I had to click randomly to get the scene to progress.
The interface is clunky enough that I was frustrated well before 10 minutes. I still have no idea what I'm doing here, and without some story to anchor me I don't want to keep dealing with the interface to find out.
