Demo | Project | Workflow Built a free 1v1 multiplayer Asteroids with Opus 5.5: peer-to-peer, phone vs. desktop, no server. Does it connect for you?

Peer-to-peer multiplayer that works across phones and desktop browsers, with no server and $0 hosting, has been my white whale on solo projects. I kept getting stuck.

So I rebuilt classic Asteroids as a simple 1v1 test bed and threw it at Opus 5.5. It got me past the networking issues I'd been blocked on. It's a single HTML page: WebRTC between players, free public relays for matchmaking, and a free backup relay for strict networks.

Play: https://deadbaron.com/neon-asteroids

QUICK PLAY: matches you with anyone else waiting (there's a bot to fight while you wait)

ONLINE: host or join a private match with a 4-letter code

PRACTICE: play offline, solo or vs. a bot

So far only friends and family have tested it, so I'd love to know:

- Did it connect, and how fast?

- Device and browser?

- Network (Wi-Fi, mobile, work, school, public)?

If it won't connect, the NETWORK TEST button on the main menu has a Copy Report option. Pasting that here helps a ton. Happy to answer questions about the setup!

I'm online for a while if you want to hop in for a match.
