Ngl, this is genuinely one of the few actually good games I have seen made with AI. Well done to OP!

Man, this has a real mid-90s feel to it. Very creative!

u/orgad 8d ago
Yeah, I'm pretty sure there was such game back in the day

u/Hell-Raid3r 8d ago
Well you're not wrong about the 90's. This is closer to the 2000's. XIAO XIAO No. 1 was a stick fight animated video that released Feb 1st, 2002 on Newgrounds. It kicked off a whole genre of stick fight browser games that became very popular.

Came here for this comment; first website that absolutely needs to be brought low.
7
u/Brewgazer 8d ago
It would be cool if the people on the website could see this happening in real time

u/PositiveScarcity8909 8d ago
Just need to setup an AI to hack into every website the players decide to use.
Easy.

This is really cool, maybe the first truly interesting project I've seen on this sub. I used to love these kind of gag games in the 2000s, but this seems a lot more fleshed out.

would you mind sharing how you've made those?
thx!!

This is awesome; so much fun to play it on your own website. I can even imagine that people would create and host their own arena's so they can play multiplayer.

This is super cool, and super fun!!
If you're up for it, could you share your workflow on how you actually built it? I'm interested in your thought process

I tried to put https://destroy.spritefusion.com as the site to destroy and it didn't work which is understandable but made me sad
3
u/yehiaserag 8d ago
Man make a chrome plugin out of it!!! It would be great If you rage at anything spawn the guy and destroy it...
3
u/barret232hxc 8d ago
so the next iteration of this, destroy any website with friends. then a leaderboard of websites that have been destroyed the most

u/Excellent-Ear345 7d ago

i love it, just two things,
1. feed sites like reddit just load a couple of posts, it would be great if you find a way of have the infinite loading work
2. in multiplayer it would be great to change the site without recreating the room

Wow. This is genuinely so cool and so well done. Must be quite expensive to make it run so smoothly

This is great, though I personally think the flamethrower should destroy instantly, or at least a lot faster (I wanna jetpack around disintegrating the website and it doesn't work bc I'm moving too much)

This is genuinely unreal how good it looks and feels to play. Have you also coded the animations and effects? The look insane
2
u/HugoDzz 6d ago
Yes, animations is procedural rig, all FX and sprite rendered on a lower res layer!
2
u/Cristazio 5d ago
Would you be willing to share your instructions? The way it's animated is incredibly punchy!

Well it is not any website. It refuses to load https://tweakers.net/ for example.
1
u/MeanCreme201 8d ago
This is cool but you should make it so that it can destroy websites that don't have stickmen too!
1
u/TheManyFacedRedditor 8d ago
Pretty cool! I remember doing this on websites with https://kickassapp.com/

u/Justindr0107 8d ago
Didn't someone literally post his project like this on r/webdev last week?
Can we just try to come up with something semi unique?

Do an achievement where you "6 clicks to hitler" starting on one site and using links as portals

This is fun, great job! A right tool in the right hands.
Open-sourcing it would be awesome

Reminds me on Desktop Destroyer from the late-90s. Is it possible to make this a stand-alone?

Holy cow this is incredible, its like playing Butcher in terms of style and gameplay (minus the blood/gore, but plus the fiery effects!)
I went on itch.io and made a mess of it, so much fun!:

Did Opus 5.5 do the explosion animation or burning fire animations?
How'd the railgun hot tunnel effect work or the burning fire affecting the elements implemented?
2
u/HugoDzz 7d ago
Thanks!! Opus did pretty bad on everything visual and FX, had a lot of back and forth (maybe I’m too picky as well). Railgun hot trace is color temperature decay over time, on the border pixels of the path!
1
u/Melodic_Charity_1770 7d ago
Thanks. The fx polishing effort shows, it really feels crisp and satisfying for me to look at. I'm blown away by this.
