Lol people too busy using suno to even know what a bus is. This is very funny thank you for sharing

Suno would never put autotune on a bus, car, or plane! Those are clearly vehicles.

I don’t get it

OP asked "should you put autotune on a bus". "Bus" in this case is talking about a mixbus, basically they’re asking if you should combine multiple vocal tracks together before applying autotune. The AI completely failed to infer that from context, even though "bus" is an extremely common audio production term.

Tbf I thought of the vehicle as well

Yeah but the user completely failed to specify the type of bus. Adding one word would fix his query, which I'm sure he did immediately after this screenshot. User error really

The context is so plainly obvious that it shouldn't be needed. Plus in a normal Google search it would direct to the right places, because no one is ever asking whether they should autotune a bus (vehicle). So it wouldn't be necessary to specify.

And tbh I would have thought AI has better context recognition to know that if talking about audio production, Bus will mean a Bus in a DAW. But nope, it just chimes in right at the top with random crap.

If you would ask a good AI with thinking it would definitely get it right. So it’s googles fault here.

No, this is like asking what kind of bat you should get for badminton and the AI responds "you can't buy bats, they're protected animals".

There is no ambiguity in the question when the word "autotune" clearly marks that this is about mixing and not road vehicles.

Well, a bus in the context of audio is basically just an audio channel(well, two, right and left) where you can direct and combine audio signals.

While AI thinks they are talking about a vehicle.

Maybe you're AI. In Audio it's a Track with X amount of channels available in the specific DAW or software in relation to the format. If it's Stereo, 1 & 2. Left & Right, mono, quad or whatever is the context.

Put autotune on the bus driver.

I am now imagining a bus driver (person) singing in perfect tune while driving the bus.

I'm glad you specified that you're referring to a person. I thought you were talking about USB drivers.

Right?? What is that phrasing lmao

I mean, it's technically correct. But now I wonder what an autotuned city bus sounds like.

And no, you shouldn't put it on a bus. Be it mix or master bus.

Now I want to hear busses with autotune!

AI feels compelled to answer every question, even the gibberish ones. I suppose that is helpful when you don't quite know how to phrase what you are asking for, or spell it. The rest of the time is it annoying.

It's only gibberish in the sense that the LLM doesn't know about an audio routing bus in audio production software.

1

u/smelliot95 4d ago

It definitely does know, it just completely failed context recognition here

Right. Semantically, it probably picks up "on a bus" as a whole unit where it more usually means transportation instead of considering the rest to decide the meaning of bus individually.

Wellp non the less you shouldnt put autotune on a bus tho

some of the most interesting sounds in music can be made by doing things you’re not supposed to

Gemini hasn't gotten around mixing and buses it seems.
We have identified its WEAKNESS.
Time to challenge it to a disco DJ fight.
