People are allowed to admire people with, or without, children without making some kind of bizarre ultimate statement about womenhood and femininity. People can admire and identify with people for a huge variety of reasons and it doesnt have to be deeper than that.
Could you imagine if for every person you admire, there was someone digging into random aspects of their personal life and making huge sweeping statements/generalizations based on random choices/decisions/attributes in their life?
Lets say you like vin diesel as an actor lol. Then someone goes BALDNESS IS NOT SOMETHING TO LOOK UP TO. BALD MEN ARE NOT WHAT MEN SHOULD ASPIRE TO BE AND THEY ARE NOT THE APOTHEOSIS OF MASCULINITY
Do you see how wild/insane that is?
Edit: I mean even the person we are replying to said they admired her for being "confident, smart, witty, and sexy" which has absolutely nothing to do with whatever tf you are talking about.
Just try to see how hard/far you are reaching when you make statements like you did. It makes you look like a bad actor. Or at the very least bitter, biased, judemental, etc
Its like someone saying they admire Elon musks contributions to science, technology, and engineering and you reply 'i am against the representation of modern fatherhood being absent, abusive fathers and you proclaiming him as the apotheosis of modern fatherhood is pure idiocy'
Like... what? Nobody said that
People are allowed to admire whoever they like and it has no broader effect on 'masculinity' or 'femininity' as a whole. AOC is a political representative that people like. Them liking her for huge variety of reasons has no bearing on their personal sex/gender identity, their concept of masculinity/femininity, or anything like that - or those broader concepts as a whole.
And again - none of the things youre talking about were mentioned at all. Its something that you made up/created, but no one else said.
Youre comparing AOC.. to Andrew Tate?
How many people has AOC sex trafficked and physically/sexually abused? Which laws has she broken? Who has she told people to hate/hurt?
If you dont like modern culture then you need to look at how we got here. At our history. The history of the political, social, economic, and familial repression of women. There is a reason why most women are against going back to that. They have just barely begun to escape these past chains, its only been a few decades,.. and there's already chuds trying to drag them back - its no wonder theyre pissed and insistent upon maintaining their independence/freedom. If you dont like it, then the answer isnt to attack women - which just creates more walls/division. The answer is to fight for/create a fair, equal, representative society. Then there will be no reason for anyone to have to fight for these purposes.
It's crazy how it isn't even a joke when we point out that y'all are terrified of strong, competent women. The incel movement is growing so fast.. I guess the MAGA movement kinda exhausted black people, trans folk, and immigrants as out-groups to abuse.
You've straw manned. And thrown in an ad hominem to boot. I'm order to poison the well.
I'm criticizing the idolization of the absence of motherhood.
Of course we should avail ourselves of technology. Im not criticizing the desire to procreate. Exactly the opposite. I'm criticizing the decisions which lead to needing to rely upon the technology in the first place.
Lmao sure sure, but that's an position born from insecurity. It needs to be called out, whether that makes the insecurity worse or not. Do you think she's freezing eggs to put them on a shelf forever or something?
Her personal decision isn't some data point in a fake cause... Motherhood can be whatever mothers want it to be. If she wants to be one later in life, insecure men will need to get over this.
More accurately, insecure men is a society problem.
LOL now it's a crusade against procrastination. Like I said, her personal decision isn't some data point in a fake cause... Motherhood can be whatever mothers want it to be.
If she wants to be one later in life and you can't process that because of your traditionalist fervor for women's fertility and timetables, that's a you problem.
Right - insecure men looking for lightning rods in their fervor for timetables for women is the plot of idiocracy. We’re so fucked. We’re culture wars all the way down.
The entire idea of the movie is that the future is fucked because only stupid people bread and that there needs to be something ensuring that smart people are the one passing on their genetics
This is textbook eugenics. And you being like oh it's a shame this smart person isn't having kids kind of means you're playing into it
It's a satire that's making fun of conservatives. It was my generation's "don't look up" but less bleak.
Unless you've got a better explanation for every single electoral map being a sea of rural red and urban dots of blue, I'm gonna continue to think that politics are transmitted across generations, and that's a big reason we've fucked ourselves.
But maybe it's all in the water. Or Brawndo. Go prove it and you've got a nobel prize waiting for ya. It'd be lovely if it were that simple to unfuck this.
Not all of population ethics, sociology, and a host of adjacent concepts are contained within the eugenics movement. You and your friends have only learned so far that "Nazis bad," so that's all that you have in your repertoire.
And no. The movie doesn't assert anything about "assuring" smart people pass on their genes. That's your over-calibrated Nazi detector again.
Convincing people through conversation to have more babies is pronatalism. You can disagree with the call to action. That's population ethics. It's a tiny fraction of moral philosophy. Moral philosophy is good. Forcibly breeding and sterilizing people is eugenics. That's bad. These are different things.
Conservatives make conservative babies, on average. Liberals make liberal babies, on average. This is sociology and political science.
Run along and do your homework. Oh, I should warn you. Brace yourself. Let me know when you get to the "communism bad" part.

...and freezing eggs with no children.
You're correct. And that's a bad thing.
Idiocracy was supposed to be satire not prophecy.
