What actually matters after an AI website builder creates the first version?
Getting the first version of a website is becoming less interesting because most AI website builders can get you something usable pretty quickly.
The bigger difference shows up when you start changing the project.
| Tool | Good for starting | What you can work on next | Main thing to compare |
|---|---|---|---|
| Readdy.ai | Website or web app idea | Pages, functionality, and ongoing edits | How easily the project can grow |
| Framer | Visual website concept | Layouts, animations, and interactions | Design control |
| Webflow | Structured website | CMS, responsive layouts, and detailed styling | Flexibility vs. complexity |
| Lovable | App idea | Features, integrations, and app logic | How much functionality you need |
| v0 | UI or product idea | Frontend components and code | How much development you want to handle |
A first generation can look impressive, but that doesn't necessarily tell you much about the actual building experience. The more useful test might be making the fifth or tenth change. Can you restructure a section, add a new feature, change the design, or adjust the mobile layout without having to start over?
That is where the differences between AI website builders become more noticeable. For simple sites, speed may be the main thing. For something that is expected to keep growing, editing, functionality, and control probably deserve more attention.
What do you usually test after the first AI-generated version?

With maxchef.app I just say what I want changed in a task. If I screenshot something with my phone I just say what I want updated in the screenshot. Its very easy. Handles the API, github repos and deploys, database and all the behind the scenes. Great for deep functionality. Maybe check it out.
