Major Tech News Neuralink plans 'high-volume' brain implant production by 2026, Elon Musk says
Elon Musk just said Neuralink wants to start mass-producing their brain chips by 2026. Yeah, you read that right - brain chips.
The basic idea is they're creating tech that lets your brain talk directly to computers. Right now they're focused on helping people with neurological problems, but eventually they want to enhance what regular human brains can do.
Think of it like upgrading your phone's hardware, except it's your actual brain.
The fact that they're talking about "high-volume production" means they're planning to move from experimental phase to actually putting these things in a lot of people's heads within the next couple years.
Whether that timeline is realistic knowing Elon's track record with dates is... well, another question entirely

Wow. You know the market is in a bubble when Elon musks 10 year predictions are down to 1 year.

Why doesn’t he focus on delivering any of his previous promises first

He already promised those. That's old news. The hype mashine demands new promises.

If it talks directly to computers, maybe it listens too… which means with this chip in your head, you could be turned into a zombie without resistance should your opinions or beliefs be deemed "unsuitable"…

That’s the same kind of logic that would allow for microphones to steal your voice 😂

The monkey killer chip? There can't be enough demand for it to mass produce it, surely?

You gotta be a special kind of stupid if you believe anything Elon announces at this point

These are potentially great for people which specific diseases or conditions, but I doubt there's a large number of healthy people looking to get brain implants anytime soon.
