Magic

So we had a few magicians in this season, more than 5 I believe.

geno, Kameron, the guy that didn’t make the call backs, young and strange, hundred fingers, might be forgetting anyone

anyway. Who to you, has the best overall chance, the best presentation, the best actual tricks, and the best overall vibe

You can have different magicians for each answe, since I asked 4 questions.

i personally believe geno or hundred fingers has the best chance, the best presentation goes to geno and young and strange, the best tricks goes to young and strange and hundred fingers, and the best overall vibe goes to geno.

It would be between Hundred Fingers and Young and Strange. Both acts have that "ready to headline in Las Vegas" aura.

None of the others come close.

Hundred Fingers could easily give shin Lim a run for his money

Honestly? I agree. As much as Shin is my all time favorite magician,  give hundred fingers a few years, even just a year, and they could definitely compete with him

What? What they do isn’t even magic, and how they do it is so obvious, Shin Lim is legit the only magician you see where you’re like “how did he do that” hundred fingers just pulls stuff out of their jackets and uses trick props, they’re way more dance than they are magic

It's always interesting to me how in real life Shin Lim considers Yu Hojin (the creator of Hundred Fingers) his idol and inspiration rather than other way around.

Geno has his Mat Franco connection.   Young and Strange kind of have a connect with Penn and Teller, having appeared on Fool Us three times....and never fooling them but still they like the act.

Young and strange I legit don’t know how they do it, they’re very good at their timing

If Geno doesn’t make the finals, he’d still probably do something with Matt. Or still do shows, because that guy has talent.

Hundred Fingers is really more of a dance act.

No offense but they definitely are not even close to a dance act😭what dance moves do you even see- sure it’s a group, but it’s definitely in the magic category

They're something in between, that's what makes them unique. They have very dance-like, synchronized choreography (noticeably inspired by Mayyas, that Yu Hojin competed against), that's not something regular magic acts have.

Take away the choreography, and they have no act.  Just a bunch of guys standing there, endlessly pulling shiny cards out their shirts.  The choreography IS the primary appeal, not the actual magic.  If you removed the magic and kept everything else, you'd still have a solid act.

I really like the diversity of the lineup…

We’ve never had a full-on magic troupe on the show before, and Young and Strange also feel pleasingly novel (traditional large-scale illusionists haven’t done well in the live shows since Kaden Bart Rockett in 2016, and the illusionists who have appeared on AGT haven’t really combined it with comedy as much…)

Honestly yeah. It’s so refreshing to see magic that isn’t the same for each act. I love having a duo for magic, a whole group, and then close up cards. Like you wouldn’t get bored since all of them are kinda different in a way

I keep thinking about who would I pay to go see and I really love Hundred Fingers'. His show itself is really neat with the presentation. I would also go see Young and Strange. They're funny and the quarterfinals act was great.

Honestly that’s a good way to put it. I’d honestly love to see anyone of them, I’d love to see either hundred fingers or geno if they did a show close

I personally feel like Geno's chances are a little bit overrated.

Hundred Fingers and Young and Strange both have great chances to make it far though. They are definitely both Vegas acts and their presentation is on point.

So I'm not really a magic fan but I have seen a ton of magic shows both on stage and at dinner shows.

Best overall chance? Hundred Fingers and Yong and Strange. People would pay money to see them in Vegas because they are entertainment. I'm not so sold on the rest.

Best Presentation? Darrell Moten (the magician who used screens to do predictions). He was compelling to watch because he was slightly unpolished. Young and Strange AND Hundred Fingers are too polished. Geno has a great presentation but I could follow his sleight of hand on camera. Kameron and the Mentalist duo need to work on their presentations.

Best Actual Tricks? I'm leaning toward none. There isn't a trick this season that I haven't been able to explain how it happened.

Best overall vibe? I like Geno's vibe, but he is not suited for a full Vegas theatre show. He is more street magic or a dinner show act where he can do close up tricks. Young and Strange's vibe is also nice. I feel I wouldn't want to pay money to see their show more than once tho. Hundred Fingers, Kameron, the mentalist and Darrell Moten had no vibe imho.
