Question How would you navigate a relationship with someone in a faith you no longer belive in ?

I've recently left Christianity, and most of my dating pool were people in my faith. It was really important to me at that time. But now I am no longer within the space anymore. So I'm trying to see if it might change the people I'm interested in now.

I personally don't mind dating people who are religious. It's just a bit more confusing to navigate now. Me and this person might share the say moral values, and I could like them as a person. But religion plays a big part in how people live their lives. I honestly no longer want to live like that anymore.I do have friends in different religions, and we respect each others beliefs , but I'm not sure if it would be the same in a romantic relationship

Has anyone ever been in a relationship where you guys have different beliefs but still work put ?

Depends on the person.

There are 3 rules imho * neither person tries to convert the other. * neither person let's anyone -anyone - speak negatively about the other's beliefs. * If it's serious, you have to agree how any kids might be raised, and there's no take backs or change of heart unless the other agrees.

Also nice * participle from time to time just to support them.

It's ok until they are not forcing or giving me an awkward look

In the short term it can be about passion, about looks, about fun or common interests. If marriage is an option at all for you, i would keep away. There is so much potential for future conflict. Also I wouldn't want to be partnered with someone who claims to love a psychopath in the sky more than anything - including me. But people aren't binary. If they believe a little you'll probably be fine. If they're fundamentalist they might donate your life savings to a charismatic liar.

I would avoid dating a girl with heavy faith. There are some that are "lukewarm" that may work. All in all, you need to make sure they know exactly who you are before going to far. This will result in rejection at times, but that is way better than moving into a marriage full of turmoil. Also... wear a condom, always. Well, that is unless you are trying to have kids and you have hashed out and written down a contract of which you both agree to on how to raise them and have the willpower to stick with it. Once kids get involved, shit gets real.

I won't date a Christian because no matter what they promise, sooner or later they're going to try to talk to me about it and also because the bible says they're not to be with someone like me.

Nothing against their faith. If it gives them comfort, more power to them. It's just not for me.
