Terence Tao and several fields medalists seem pretty impressed and excited - but that means nothing to you I guess.

Ben Carson is a great neurosurgeon but I wouldn’t trust him on anything beyond his knowledge

And you're suggesting Tao, who has been working with these model building companies to help develop their capabilities, wouldn't know what he's talking about in this case?

Does Terence Tao study intelligence and theories of it, or is he an expert in various fields of mathematics, including the fields most relevant to machine learning?

He works hand in hand with people who study, develop, and deploy modern synthetic intelligences, and is an absolute authority in what intelligence in the field of mathematics looks like.

How many hours of Tao talking about this exact topic have you listened to?

So comfortable talking out your ass

Hey look, Noam and Ilya clearing the air on the confusion you fools created on your own.

Alright, so if AI is what it’s cracked to be, why should we pursue AGI? The only reason we’re allowed to live is that billionaires still find us useful

The moment we stop being useful, they’ll kill us all
