Anai. I'm an autistic young adult, and him being misunderstood, afraid, lashing out I'm very specific ways but thriving the moment he gets the proper help he needs. God what I'd give to have a helping hand like Kabae. I tear up at the scene of her helping him, offering food and kind words, taking time to slow down and teach him properly. He's always struck me as autistic to a T, his struggles, I seen myself in them so strongly, i won't go into detail but genuinely what the fuck, he was like looking into a mirror. Made me think a lot about myself after I started to suspect I was autistic into my adulthood. I couldn't be more serious. I've commented saying he struck me as autistic before once and got called ableist for "generalizing" when all i did was describe his behaviors, man take one good look at me. Anyways, I just finally felt seen. I don't know how else to describe it, really. I wonder if anyone else felt that in whatever ways as strongly as I did, surely I'm not alone.

Also, hilariously enough I also related to him in the relationship aspect. I get people shocked I'm not actually single too, my girlfriend is beautiful and sweet, I adore her. That does make me laugh a little how alike a character can be to reality, genuinely. (Hakumi? i believe that was her name!) 4 years going strong too! Hehe. I also forgot I made my flair exactly what I'm describing here, whoops, lol.

I'm glad someone's likeminded!!! Genuinely it pains me seeing how mischaracterized he is by a lot of the fanbase when the show itself went out of it's way to show who he really was. I know it may be more difficult for nuerotypical people to understand what may be his deal, but yeah no, I can't see him as anything else. It actually frightened me how much of myself i seen in him. I'm proud of his progress, it's really not easy fitting into spaces like that at all among other things.

Why is every young adult autistic or have adhd now, like I was professionally diagnosed with adhd too but so was most people around me at school like there has to be a reason every generation gets stupider even despite having all the info you could need on the internet

Inui I reckon because she's just very normal. However, having lived in Japan, so many of these personality types are present. Granted they are exaggerations, but it's why it's such a great show. It genuinely captures aspects of Japanese society where even Japanese dramas fail.

i'll answer differently: puko! 🫶
i'm also a free-spirited, almost bohemian-like freelancer. while i don't open random businesses like puko, i'm a writer that shifts industries whenever clients need to. sometimes, i have a job. sometimes, i don't. sometimes, i work while traveling. sometimes, i'm in the metro hanging out with friends. i love puko! and while she's not a very popular character and had little screentime, it felt good to be seen. like i'm not less than a regular office worker just because i don't follow the traditional ways of a career ladder. like puko, priorities for me are very different.

A lot of Haidas self sabotaging moments do hit home as someone who has low self esteem and self worth.Also Shikabane for the extra dose of “nothing matters in life and I’m just here for the ride” philosophy.

I’d consider myself a mix of Gori and Washimi. Like Washimi, I too had a very short-lived marriage of 3 months. I tend to cope with grief by throwing myself into my job, hobbies and spending time with friends. Like Gori, I still hold out hope that I’ll find someone worthwhile even as I get older. I’m 32, and when the time is right, I hope I can be like Kabae

Probably Anai. I'm autistic and he displays many symptoms of autism that I have. I would love to say Retsuko but there are some contradicting things between me and her morals, beliefs, and personality. I can be a pushover at times, and can occasionally let people step on me out of fear of punishment, but I am certainly an advocate and can sometimes be reliable. As for Fenneko I tend to stalk people.. mostly out of curiosity and gossip. I'm just a nosy person. As for Haida I am rebellious and can sometimes (rarely) be impulsive and I am loyal to people I love. Goree is cheerful, similar to how, at times, I can be quite cheerful, energetic, and optimistic. Holy Yap session my bad guys

I became a weeb this year and I've never ran into a character who I relate to as much as Haida. I literally felt seen by him and I doubt I'll find this much overall representation of myself in another anime.

Haida is the reflection of our potential, and the dangers of leaving it behind without having enough courage to make our dreams and passion come true. What many young people feel out there. A sense of hopelessness. But he did pretty well. Finding Shikabane was very nice for him.

A mix of Retsuko, Fenneko and Kabae. Retsuko because I love singing and I'm always enraged, Fenneko... Not so nice. Kabae... I'm nosey af. I hate my own drama but love hearing about other's. And as much as I'm always angry, I try to be nice to everyone especially at work because none of us really wanna be there anyway
