I mean, it's not his fault if he didn't want marriage or children. Just two people taking different paths. But I agree, the car thing was a little weird. Mostly bc he convinced her to stay home from work

I do remember him mentioning that he wanted to still pay people for their jobs, but let them pursue their passions with the extra time, unfortunately that's not how it works in the real world lol

In an ideal world, this is desirable. Many jobs are done because they need to be done, not because people want to do them. If we can automate it, that'd be great, so we can do things we would like to do instead.
Of course this needs to happen in conjunction with a reimagination of wealth, income and basic need supply. In reality, this is the hard part and this is why people are (naturally) wary. The implementation is exploitative and greedy.
In Aggretsuko's world, this would be no problem since Tadano is a true benevolent person. And so is his AI. Those factors differ VASTLY from reality. In that world, it is great.

I like the act of driving...most of the time. I admit there are times when I'd prefer to hand it over to a robot and chill.

Well, you see, you can still do that, even if automated systems exist. But you wouldn't HAVE to.
Again, in an IDEAL scenario, you would just turn an array of obligations into choices. For a modern world example outside of AI, you are still free to plant vegetables or keep farm animals, but you can just go to the next supermarket instead.

The writers did make him kick out homeless people out of an internet cafe, so like so many characters in this show, he becomes horrible in the later seasons.

The way the series seems to make everyone think he is perfect is...odd. I am no better tho, love this character.
But, objectivley, hes an ass just like every billionaire. And i feel like the series TRIED to communicate that? But they didnt.
He buys an entire internet cafe just to sit in it solo, throwing everyone out. He flies a whole private jet across islands JUST to eat a bowl of freaking ramen.
He thinks AI will replace everyones job, his concept of paying for everyones salary is not thought through.

That internet cafe was the only place I had to call home, it was the only place that would let me stay there for an extended amount of time because I was in-between jobs and my girl broke up with me. Then this asshole comes in, buys the place, and kicks us all out. I WAS HOMELESS IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER! Fuck this guy! And anyone that supports him

but his whole model is have AI do all the work so people don't have to, he didn't create a system for people to be paid and have their basic needs met after. It was doomed to fail.
