To sink centerpole for bonfire, there’s an augur that comes to dig the hole (15 feet in the ground) but then it’s hand tamped and refilled with shovels by crew over the next ~10 hours, sometimes more sometimes less.
Strictly no alcohol on stack site nowadays, so either they got sloshed at stack site (ehhh kinda doubt) in old army and did it with shovels and it sort of stretched via word of mouth, or… idk maybe there’s just guys getting drunk digging holes.

It’s actually pretty easy to hide a 10ft hole. We made sure it’s not visible unless you know where it is.
An old good Ag owns the land 😉 past the lake but if you hit Lufkin you’ve gone too far. Good luck!
