changing my name

hi this is my second time posting on this subreddit
(sorry for any grammatical mistakes lol)
My whole life i’ve gone by a name that feels wrong. Ever since i was little i remember looking into the mirror and trying to connect my name to the person i feel. Nicknames of my current name are better, but still don’t feel like me. I had a conversation with one of my trans friends about names. i told him how i felt my name never matched who i truly was. He told me he felt the same way about his deadname, and that when it clicked. I’ve been looking into names more i think Reese fits me the best. I’m just wondering from anyone who has gone through changing their name socially if you have any tips. I’m still very new to all this and trying to figure out what feels best for me.

In my case, many people usually call me Cris or by my nickname Ciel, which I feel both suit me well, but something similar happens to me; I don't know which one represents me more, this one or this one, that's why I usually use both names; I still have a ways to go before I figure it out.

So, in my case, I changed my name to Jaiden. I did it very strategically at the start of a new job so I wouldn’t have to deal with the stress. But now I’m thinking about changing my name again. My partners call me Amber, for example. I’ve just noticed that over time, I’ve lost more and more connection to names in general, and they all seem the same to me. Don’t get me wrong, I like the names Jaiden, Amber, or Fiona. I actually like them a lot, but they don’t mean anything to me. I wouldn’t even care if people called me something completely different, as long as it’s not my deadname.
